Don’t rush encounters with coworkers, family and friends.
Speak softly. Listen attentively.
Act as if every conversation you have is the most important thing on your mind today.
Look your children and your partner in the eyes when they talk to you.
Stroke the cat, caress the dog.
Lavish love on every living being you meet.
See how different you feel at the end of the day.

Think less, feel more-
Sadly, we have resorted to drastic measures peeps. Normally we like to keep it light and fluffy on Thursdays, always have and always will, maybe?!? The proverbial line in the sand has been drawn, until the NHL starts playing again? We will be showing cheeky Canadian videos on Thursday mornings … Sorry.
**Be forewarned! It’s all downhill from here, Strange Brew and Degrassi Junior High vid’s are on tap for next week.**
The Plan-
The Workout-
Rest Day … A brisk Walk and some Leg Drains. Simple.
Who knows? Maybe you and your ironic self-will make it on Style Blaster. <—To be cool before it’s cool? Click Me!!!

… Strange days have found us
Strange days have tracked us down
They’re going to destroy our casual joys …
Quick test this morning while the tea brews: Say this simple word out loud: “Gratitude “.
Was this hard for you? Did we struggle saying just one little word? For many of us, thinking and passing forward appreciative thoughts is completely natural and something we do on a daily basis. This underlying and authentic appreciation for all “things” good in our lives helps us to not only live longer, feel a little better and most importantly: Creating positive connections with the world around us. Gratitude …
Just as you would cultivate other positive habits, gratitude begins at an early age and needs to nurtured throughout our lives. And NO! It’s never too late to start getting aboard the Gratitude Bandwagon. The ass-hats around you will start to like what they see and hear from you each day.
Where does this leave us? Practice, practice gratitude daily. We are ever so grateful you are here with us today! There, that’s a spiffy start!
The Plan-
The Workout-
If there is one thing to be said about CultFit Readers: Attention to detail is lacking or non-existent at times. So on that note we are going to lay out what the goal is this week, no more beating around the bush. Yes, it is possible to learn to do a proper Push Up without beating the living sh!t out of yourself. Do we need to read this last sentence again?!?
Moving on … A nice flowing Trail Run (or whatever else you choose) with a good friend followed by:
Find a nice comfy spot to stop and face one another in a High Plank Perfect Push Up position (mess around with a Hinge Walk Out to get your distance correct). While looking your partner in the eye, touch your right hand to their right hand then switch and go left to left … criss cross applesauce works as well. This is not a contest!!! Continue alternating hands/arms until both of you are too tired to go on.
Remember you have to Run back home?!?
Notes:
Don’t worry peeps, we are grateful you made it this far into the post! Be well today and ENJOY!!!

*Taking the time to actually read this post today may increase your chances of having a great day? Just saying peeps.
When you show up to an event, a race, heck even a bridal shower? Are you too busy judging whether you are good enough to be there in the first place?
When we do this to ourselves, we miss out on the magic of being present for an amazing experience. No sh!t Sherlock! “We all want to do well!“ Many more of us want to be the best competing on any given day, which is totally cool in our book. But to refuse to participate because you’re not quite top-tier is sad.
How loud do we need to scream in panic before our message starts to settle in? We are heading down a very dark road peeps. Where extreme levels of performance have become the guard rails and running on these roads is dangerous to all of us.
This is our challenge to you this weekend:
Remember going outside just to play?!? When was the last time you went to a park and joined in on an impromptu game of football (proper football, not the ‘Merican crap) with some friends? Have you ever stopped at a trail head and asked someone if they care to join you for a bit (the offer of a cold beer or coffee increase your chances)? Play, peeps … Plain and simple.
Each and every one of us is deprived of play in our lives, a crying shame to say the least. For many of us; the simple experience of what play should be has become work. We are way over organized in our daily lives : Gotta schedule this task … I just have to check in on Foursquare and tell this business they suck on Yelp!
Quick being cruel to yourself, PROMISE?!?
The Plan-
Come play with us this SUNDAY. Not like that perv!?!
The Workout-
A dynamic sweat inducing Warm Up of your choosing. Followed by:
20 Broad Jumps
20 Perfect Pull Ups
20 Hard Style KB Swings
20 Walking Lunges (each leg)
20 Perfect Push Ups
20 KB Piston Push Press (heavy)
20 Romanian Dead Lifts (heavy)
20 Goblet Squats (heavy)
20 Meter Sprint (Out and Back)
20 Minutes focusing on the movement that you feel you need to work on the most!!!
**Caution!!! Normally when random peeps stop by and see a program like this they instantly assume balls to the wall, hard-core, ELITE, gotta kill myself before the weekend. Right? Get your head straight right now … Breathing and Hips! Before you even start say: Breathing and HIPS!!! Out loud.**
Notes:
Pinky swear? Melissa from Sweet Wholesome Health will be back on Monday!!! Have a great weekend and ENJOY!!!

But happiness is within the soul-
This may come as a surprise to some of you reading this morning that, Yes there is a kinder gentler side here at CultFit. Over the past few years “our” clients detached from the inter-webz and social media have taken part in a rather old-fashioned means of communication, postcards! And finally due to much coaxing from these other member’s we have decided to present it to you!
Random Motivational Postcards for One Year!!! (Must clicky on this one!!!)
Miraculously you can actually feel and hold a postcard, pick it up and flick it around. You can even put them in the spokes on your new $2500 bike that was ridden once last year. All kidding aside this is pretty cool in our book and helps out a few people in a tough spot either in training or getting motivated to run a marathon for the first time. If you feel like this is something you would like or would like to share with a friend or family member? Please take the time to pass it on!!!
**1976…Hmm. Sums up our lives today pretty well?!? The fun starts at 1:35…**
The Plan-
The Workout-
As we start to spend more time outdoors this spring take the time to look around you for some ladybugs! Our good mates at the Lost Ladybug Project desperately need each and every one of you reading today to help out. Face it, you never leave the house without your iThingy to take precious little photos of yourself after a hard 2 mile run…How about not worrying about your image for a bit and looking around yourself for some friendly little critters!?!
Warm Up Thoroughly and certainly Not For Time…
Pulled from the “Honest Effort” archives here at CultFit HQ:
75-80% Max Effort Hill Sprints followed by:
20 Perfect Push Ups (At the top before you head back down)
By all means feel free to play with the rep range with the Push Ups. Meaning, ideally we would like 200-300 Push Ups today although that is a lot of hill sprints. Try to find a balance this morning that works for you and pushes you a tad…As an example: Sister Mel performed 10 Hill Sprints and 30 Perfect Push Ups…
Notes:
The Lost Ladybug Project is super-duper importante to us here and we implore you to help out! Be safe today during the program and by all means ENJOY!!!
