Be active, healthy and enjoy your family and friends-
One of the driving forces if not the only principle for CultFit is Karma Yoga. Quite simply, Karma Yoga is the gentle practice of giving back to the communities of which you are a part. In my most pure form, I embrace Seva, selfless service. Seva is an act of kindness and generosity that neither demands, nor expects, reciprocation.
One of the great hall marks of our generation is that, more times than not: we only take from others and not give back to those around us. A friend recently defined the Law of Karma as to say: “You get what you give”.
I implore you to give back to those around you!
If you would like to learn more about what I offer or if you would like to share ideas about giving back? Please feel free contact me at: cultfit@gmail.com

I love your thoughts on diet. I couldn’t have put it better in words myself!
agreed!
Thank you for liking my blog. I am adopting the 80/20 philosophy for healthy eating!
So cool and please let us know how you are doing! Take care!!!

It took me a bit to respond although I wanted to wish you the best! Take care and I’ll see you around.
Love the 80/20 rule and the “stop-counting-the-almonds!” thwack to the head. Thanks for liking my post. Look forward to reading more here. Be well!
Your post make this sound like fun. I will come read more. Thanks for the Like.
Thanks for the like on my blog. And thanks for leading me back here. I like to see/read/hear about others healthy way of living. Love your 80/20 suggestion.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today & liking my recent post 🙂
I love your philosophy about workouts and totally agree with your thoughts on diet, you’ve always got to have a naughty day! Speaking of which there’s a bar of chocolate with my name on it… It is Friday night after all 😉
Thanks for the “like”. I look forward to learning from and being inspired by each other.
Your thoughts on diet are so forgiving – nice. It’s allowing you to just “be” but it’s very sensible. Yes why deprive yourself? Losing weight and keeping fit is such a simple formula but it’s so tough for so many. Too often we fall off the bandwagon. Now… where’s my beer (low carbohydrate beer – it’s De-lish!)
Thanks for liking my blog. Also please check out my other blog as well on wordpress. echevarriatravel.wordpress.com
Very cool site, I like your writing style and attitude!
i like the way u think my man.. or woman…lol
Thank you for stopping over! It’s both actually … You never know who is writing on any given day. 😉
Thank you for liking my blog. I’ll spend some time reviewing your posts. I like what I’m reading. It will help with my motivation and exercise routine.

Thank you for stopping on by…Try not to read too much at once though!
I love your line “stop worrying about how many almonds you eat oer day!” It’s sooo true. 🙂

I love the common sense at work here.
Life is a brief encounter, it’s up to us to LIVE it while the gettin’s good! lol

I was definitely in the 20% zone today: dessert before dinner with Bluebell chocolate chip ice cream followed by a wonderful array of Indian food. Back to the gym tomorrow, but tonight, “Yippie!”
Interesting website! I like your way of thinking regarding fitness and enjoying life to the fullest. I need to relax more and stop counting the number of almonds I eat and calories I ingest. Sheesh! Thanks for reading my blog. 🙂
I was awarded the honor of the Liebster Award. I’m passing it on to you. Thank you.
http://mymultipersonality.wordpress.com/2012/03/24/the-liebster-award/
Thank you for the award. Thoroughly enjoy reading your blog and seeing how well you are doing!
you’re very welcome. Thanks for great, informative posts. And all the likes!
No problem, the likes are honest reads. One of our “pet peeves” here: Liking something and not reading the post 😉
ditto.
Hey Cultfit,
Thanks for following us!
Best of luck to you and your blog!

Thank you! This means a bunch to me here as I thoroughly enjoy The Sports Archives!!!
Thanks! 🙂
Very interesting post/philosophy, I’ll be back again to read more…for now, thank you for liking my post!
I like the way you have implemented the 80\20 rule into your fitness philosophy. Thanks for the post.
Argh! Darn phone! :). I was going to say that I love your don’t freak out attitude to health. So refreshing!
Thanks for following my Project Blog. I unfortunately had to remove my fitness blog and a number of others, simply because I found myself spending too much time blogging — and not enough time running and writing music! I really love your work — keep it up.
Thanks for stopping by on my blog, and for the like. Looks like a pretty interesting philosophy, can’t wait to read more when I’ve got time. I love reading up on things related to living a healthier lifestyle! I’m sure I’ll be dropping by again soon (:
Thank you!
hi. this is something totally random and it’s about your blog as a whole so i decided to post it here. i think the best thing about your blog is that it’s success will not be determined by how many facebook or twitter followers you have but by how many people no matter where they are have come to realize what the real purpose of living active, living happy and loving life is. i brought this up to a friend last weekend that yours is one of those blogs i know who recognizes that in the end, it’s living that active life with your loved ones that matters. you don’t force superficial goals to your readers as if all we should work out for is to look hot in midriffs. in my opinion, you don’t focus on the physical, but on the actual well-being of people. so kudos to you for that.
and thank you so much for the regular “trips” to my blog. : )
sorry, the grammarnazi in me could not let go of my 2nd sentence: “…best thing about your blog is that it’s success…”
i meant “its success…” so sorry for this OC moment…
Truly inspiring 😉
Thanks for the visit and “like”! Great philosophy – makes perfect sense! =)
Thanks for the like! LOVE this philosophy!!!!!! I’m a total Random Lifestyler! i try to adhere to my training schedules for my marathons..but seriously..I’m random! It’s about enjoying life! Even with my eating…as long as I am eating mindfully and making better choices in the long run, then life is great! Love this philosophy!
Finaly, someone that is real!! lol Love what you have to say and thank you for stoping by my blog earlier on 😉
The blog name had me laughing!
Definitely a lot in common! Keep up the great work!
Thank you for the visit and the like 😉
Thank you for following! I love the 80/20 advice and the training theory guideline. Will definitely be reading more, thanks again!
I love this! Been struggling with my weight for years because I’ve felt like I HAD to do EVERY little thing just right or I’d fail. And then I’d fail worse and gain more weight, becoming more unhealthy because I just couldn’t adhere to the strict rules.
I’m definitely following this blog and look forward to reading more of your posts. They’re very encouraging! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Thank you for stopping by and also for the kind words. There are over 300 posts here that basically regurgitate the same message daily: “YOU are important, listen to and respect your body, enjoy each and every day.”
Weight loss can be a constant struggle fraught with challenges at each turn in our lives. We won’t be able to tell you how to do it, that is a uniquely personal matter that is intimate. There is no “one size fits all” remedy we will give you either. This is a process and a journey to enjoy with a smile on your face not one of disgust and anger…So glad you stopped by and we wish you the best!!!
Thanks for the like – and wow am I seriously inspired to get my booty in gear just being in the vicinity of your blog! Good stuff – I’ll be sure to check back when my will power is waning 🙂
[…] was recently honored with the Liebster Award by another blog Cultfit -a big thank you!! I’m honored and pleased that folks want to read what I have to say!! […]
Living well is all about balance – in what eat, think and do. You have a great site with some insightful words of wisdom and humor – both equally valuable when it comes to being healthy.
Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking my recent post. I’ve just spent a little time checking out your stuff. Looks like great advice and something I can use a daily dose of. I’ll be following along. 🙂
“Stop worrying about how many almonds to eat…” – LOVE IT! Glad you found (and liked) my blog. Thanks for the smile!
I’m enjoying this blog more every time I read it! Added it to my blogroll. Keep up the great work.
Ben Edwards
I like your blog. Check out my Ms. Boot Camp Fitness page on facebook and my blog. I enjoy yours!!
I would love to know what you mean by “balance”. Thanks!
“Balance” when used here is a loaded word with many different meanings. You can use it literally or figuratively…It could be finding balance while doing a certain movement during a program. Or finding balance during your daily life.
That’s what I figured, too. I enjoy being able to play with words but it doesn’t burn many calories!
Sure it can! Let’s head out for a brisk walk/run/whatever and debate the true meaning of finding balance in our lives? Thank you for stopping by today!!!
For me, if you want my three cents, it mostly boils down to weighing one imbalance against another. As an obsessive type of fellow, I am always going to be inordinately engaged in one activity or another. It’s a matter of not taking any one given extreme to a greater extreme. This can only be accomplished by balancing one extreme against another. Live like I do, and one thing’s for sure — you never stop juggling. (Thanks for hearing all that.)
Great points! Something I have been meaning to write about for awhile is how we exchange one obsessive habit for another. Like quitting smoking (which is awesome) and becoming overly obsessive as a new runner (which is fraught with its own pitfalls), just one example.
Always appreciate your feed back and thoughts…I truly appreciate open and honest dialog!
I’m an absolute health nut and love your thoughts here 🙂
Thank you! As long as we don’t catch you counting almonds…We should have a healthy relationship 😉
I agree with your statement, “Before you do something..Say it out loud”. I appreciate your take that fitness does not have to be so regimented. I am trying to do this in my new look at health. I look forward to reading more on your blog.
Great post. I love the 80 percent / 20 percent idea.
Thanks! Wish you the best in your training and keep up all the hard work.
This post is so encouraging! Thank you for your thoughts! I’m gonna check out your Le-Git Programs when I get a little extra time.
Please do and if you have any other programs you feel you would like to add…By all means feel free to share them!
Like you vibe:-)
Hi, thanks for liking my post. Chaos is greatly undervalued.
Great post!
Why thank you! Thank you for stopping by this morning and have a great day!
Hi and thanks for following my blog. You have joined up with some rather extraordinary folk out there in the ether.
Hi there. So nice to read your blog today. I think it is great. Will be reading a lot of your stuff. Thanks for visiting my blog also.
Awesome post, awesome philosophy :). I find that I spend way too much time focusing on food and feeling guilty, rather than enjoying my life and friends/family.
Lol the fuck it diet works best for many. I havent changed my food routin. I do a an hours worth of walking to and from work a day as far as exercise goes and ive lost 20 lbs in two months
Thank you for looking at Storyteller. — Ray
Thanks for visiting my blog and liking the post. This site looks very interesting. I’ll have to visit again.
Thx very much for stopping by my blog and liking my post. Hope to see you again in the future!!
I agree – it has to be sustainable and “counting almonds” isn’t. Being obsessed is not fun. There is a fine line between intensity and obsession. I look forward to reading your blog. Thanks for visiting mine. Cheers.
Very nicely said!
Spot on with this, especially the 80/20 bit, and the “you only live once, enjoy it daily” thing.
OK, so living on donuts and cakes all of the time isn’t going to do you any good, but I’m a firm believer that a fairly normal balanced diet and a fairly active lifestyle is probably enough unless you’re training for the olympics.
Thank you for the comment Jon and also for stopping bye!
Thanks for stopping by carefreecomposition.com. Your info looks interesting…I’ll be back 🙂
New ways of resolving the issues of mis-treating our ready made all purpuse vehicle are always a plus in todays much too fast paced society. It’s great to read your blog providing potential help.
p.s. thanks for appreciating my post
That 80/20 rule is so true. You only live once, so why spend the whole time miserable and deprived?
Thank you! Unless you are training at a very high level and diet is paramount to your success? I have found the 80/20 split to be spot on (IMHO).
Thanks for liking my post…i’ll definitely be following you.
GREAT philosophy! I look forward to reading more of this blog!!
Two (of the many) life attitudes:
If at first you don’t succeed, try something else (as exemplified by your leaping squirrel)
OR
Fail. fail again, fail better (to quote Samuel Beckett)
Amen.
Thanks for stopping by and liking what the Sierra Club has to say …
Thanks for liking my post! Fun blog you have, here. I’ll have to come back and explore a bit more.
You are always more than welcome to come hang out!
Thanks for the “follow” this morning. Glad you liked “Digging Deep.” My husband is almost 75; I’m nearly 61. We just get out there. We don’t count the almonds.
I love your 80/20 Philosophy! Life is for enjoying!!
It sure is…Granted it only took the better part of 30 years to figure that out!
I love your blog! Very interesting.
I like your philosophy, very interesting, especially the 80/20 part.
Plus your blog has some great ideas – will definitely be putting some of them into practice! Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing more!
Thank you for stopping by to hang out for a spell!
We never put % on it but i was brought up with movement being apart of life -anything extra was considered a professional sport (^:
Really do like the 80/20% rule!!!
Great philosophy! I think 80/20 is a great mindset to have 🙂
Love the 80/20 rule!!!
Very good and I completely agree…I will be posting my diet routine soon.
Love your thoughts on diet.
Thanks for checking out my blog. I like your philosophy on “diet” as well!
Thanks for the like (and the re-follow), CultFit! I’m really enjoying reading all y’all’s thoughts on fitness and food.
I love the KISS method when it comes to most things….diet and exercise really is no different….awesome
Thanks mate! It only took 20+ years or so to figure that KISS works and saying something out loud before you do it makes sense.
You made me smile big smiles! Love your Philosophia!
Thanks for the like on my latest post. From the looks of your blog we share similar philosophies.
Hi there! Thanks for visiting my blog and liking my post. I like your Philosophia too… is the the closest thing you have to an “about” page? I was wondering who is behind CultFit!
Thank you for stopping over! The philosophia is pretty much the about page 😉 There are ways to find out more though: Bread crumbs litter the comments section across the blog-o-world from CultFit…Where I open up more and pull the curtain back. Or, you could just email me at cultfit@gmail.com to find out more.
Thanks for your “Like”!
No problem! I love reading…and you know what? Your blog is awesome!!!
Hello and thanks for liking my latest post on plantar warts. Your philosophy on health/wellness is right on…….the focus is on prevention, not treatment. I follow the 80/20 rule myself. Life is so much better with my daily small piece of dark chocolate .
Yummy dark chocolate 😉
thanks for introducing yourself! a pleasure to meet you. random acts of fitness, I love your pilosophia!
I absolutely love your thoughts on diet, its very realistic and so motivational. I feel so honoured that you liked one of my posts about workouts, cause you really know your stuff! I will be sure to keep checking back here 🙂
I really enjoy reading your blog as well! You are always welcome back to hang out and kick your feet up for a spell!!!
Aw thank you so much 🙂 I sure will! haha
Thanks for checking out my latest blog. I like your 80/20 philosophy and will use it, thanks. I will visit again. Take care.
About saying it out loud when you’re going to do something…it’s that very philosophy that made me start blogging. Make it real. Use your words.
Your latest comment made my day! I just now saw it! Please remember to visit my new spot: nursingwithdukan.blogspot.com. Thanks!!
How do you implement 80/20? I’m an all or nothing kinda girl…
The best answer would be to email me at cultfit@gmail.com
Diets are never a one size fits all sort of thing although a lot of blogs will make you think that what they are doing is far superior to anything else…Anyways, we can toss some ideas back and forth and see what you like or don’t like. The 80/20 is more about personal control than anything else, a lot of psychology stuff hidden in it 🙂
I really like what you say here: “Focus on what you eat 80% of the time and the other 20% eat what you want.” My Indian Ayurveda Doctor calls that 20% “soul food”-meaning…no matter how healthy you eat, if your soul desires something, and doesn’t get it, you will never be really healthy. When something really “calls to you” to eat it, you not only eat it , but be happy about it, enjoy it and never feel guilty about it.
A special thanks for liking my +200 Like post, and for bringing me here will I look forward to exploring further.
with love light and JOY
Thank you for stopping over and sharing your thoughts, which are spot on by the way!!! I wish you the best and when I sit down this weekend with a cup of tea rest assured I will be going through your wonderful blog to do some reading.
my honor. I am also beginning to go through yours! Love it!
“My goal is to completely ignore my iThingy the rest of the day…” Really liked that idea! And it is something which is so hard to do these days, isn’t it?
with love light and JOY
Haha! Oh the ‘almond counters’…. they make me laugh. I think we have similar thoughts on diet and exercise. I look forward to reading more!
You guys are hysterical!
dude@ ur blog is awesome!
& thanx for the follow
lol (lots of love)
😉
I like your philosophy on fitness and nutrition. I also like the idea of “saying it out loud”. Last week, I came across a very steep climb near the end of a 10K. After a moment of doubt, I said, out loud, “I own this hill, oorah!”, and run up it as hard as I could. The power of the mind, and the voice, is incredible.
Diet thoughts are the best. So sane and so balanced. Now I can stop counting almonds. Yay!
per usual, i agree with you. i like a plan, but I also love the freedom of doing whatever i want as long as it is physical. keep on keeping on
Thanks for the Likes! I really like your philosophy and really try to live by these rules. And no, I don´t count almonds! X
Your use of the word ‘bloviated’ in your mission statement makes me abnormally happy. And is abou to make the people around me slightly annoyed, as I’m about to overuse it for the next week or so. Probably while skipping.
Thanks for liking our post! All for plans!

Thanks for the visit. I’m really excited for sensible advice that reminds us to just be connected to our being, not silly rules we make up for ourselves. Don’t need to count so many almonds.
Thank you for stopping by this afternoon and having a look around. Keep up your inspired work and be well!!!
glad to see you liked my most recent post! i hope you’ll check back for the continuation!

Excellent post.l love reading philosophy ,You done a great job. Jalal Michael(l have a post on philosophy)
Love this quote “Focus on what you eat 80% of the time and the other 20% eat what you want”. Great post!
Thank you! It took years of hard work and long nights to think of this. 😉
There comes a time in all of our lives where competing to win is no longer the goal. Why not enjoy an ice cream cone or a beer after a nice long run?
Be well and take care!!!
Thanks for visiting TogetherOne! Health is a BIG one to blog about and personal at the same time. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and interests.
Thank you for stopping over to have a look around!
This is truly a great philosophy. Simple but smart. And thank you for visiting my blog!
Thank you for reading! Wish you the best. 🙂
Focus on what you eat 80% of the time and the other 20% eat what you want. – Love that! – Can I utilise that?
You sure can. 🙂 In what way were you looking to use the CultFit 80/20 method?
Be well and thank you for reading!
It’s all about variety and a degree of balance.
It sure is! Thank you for stopping over today. 🙂 I have been reading your blog now for a bit now and I absolutely enjoy every minute I spend over there.
I just wanted you to know that I really enjoy reading your blog and it is very inspiring. Sooooo.. I have nominated you for the “One Lovely Blogger Award”. You can check out the rules on my current post http://lizforaday.com/2012/09/18/fantabulous-day-146-and-the-award-goes-to-omg/

Hi, thanks very much for liking my post. Your blog looks great! I will definitely be reading more.
Hi, thanks very much for liking my post. Your blog looks great! I will definitely be reading more. Your 80/20 approach sounds very sensible I try to follow that way of thinking as well (although most of the time it is 80/20 in the other direction ;-D)
Its all about baby steps, well until you reach at least 50/50. 😉 Thank you for stopping over to look around!!!
Hi. I’ve been following CultFit blog for abt 2 months now. Just thought I’d let you know I gave you the Oh So Sweet award today 🙂 Then I saw your post with the expletives. Haha. Anyways, you can read about it at http://bopspeed.wordpress.com/2012/10/12/the-oh-so-sweet-award/
Thank you so much for your nomination … I happily accept. I’ll be sure to work on a response for you this coming weekend.
I apologize for the not so kind words in the image and if it upset you at all. The one thing I cherish more than anything else about writing is my being able to meet some really cool people like yourself. At the end of the day there just nasty little words to get a rise out of a co-worker or friend … The image in essence is the polar opposite of what I have been writing about all week 😉
Apologies on the image again and thank you so much! Take care and be well!
No sweat. Not bothered at all. In fact somedays I have a long list of expletives to spew out too so I can de-stress. Be well!
Thanks for liking our website http://www.nxtgengadgets.com

If you hadn’t “liked” my post, I wouldn’t have stumbled on yours. I’m glad I did because one of my passions is living in community and your definition of Karma Yoga fits it so beautifully! I continually take a deep breath and choose to do something for my growing neighbourhood community, not because I want to, but because it is a loving service. And it doesn’t necessarily come without cost. I love the definition of Seva, thank you.
I should be the one thanking you my friend 🙂
May your heart be filled with warmth and kindness, take care and be well!
