Anyone get the chance to catch the season premiere of The Biggest Loser last night? Neither did we although we hear there are some ground breaking programs and movements being used this season.
The Plan-
Proprioception is our sense and awareness of the position of our body in space and is closely linked to balance. It is commonly accepted within the Random Fitness community that having a good proprioception helps to reduce the risk of injury.
So basically, trying to visualize this for all the folks at home reading with a nice mug of Horlicks this fine morning. Sense that the air, space around you is fluid in nature. Well it already is but we will have this discussion later in the year. Too many times we go through a program paying no attention to how we move or all the little things that go into being able to stand upright. So today no matter what program you may be doing in the gym, at the park or at home: Do It With Your Eyes Closed.
The workout-
Not much of a workout for all you CultFit fire-breathing lunatics out there lurking in the basement. The program today is more along the lines of the “Divinyls” series of workouts in our archives.
Not for time:
One Hour of Self Reiki
If you are not sure of what Self Reiki is fire up the old Google machine, put down the Android and grab some arnica oil!

As you may well know we encourage our dear followers to compete as often as possible during the year and to somehow wrap their goals around them. We would like you to send in what you are training for and WHY? Honestly, we are more interested in the why aspect of the question…ENJOY!?!

According to our critically acclaimed research department here at CultFit HQ: We are three days into January and already 98.4% of our dear albóndigas are over training. Who Knows, maybe it’s part of a grand scheme of some sorts or another.
The pic below may be useful to you, a guide more or less. For us it’s a placeholder and we are blaming it on our AADD. Last year our posts were in essence all over the place covering a wide range of topics on any given day.
The Plan-
Some like to say “potato”, some like to say “potato”…Others like “Random” and we like to throw a wrench into the works and say “Variation”. Our reasoning for doing this is actually quite simple. Research has shown that muscle groups adapt to a specific training stimulus in roughly three weeks and then plateau. Basically- Everything works for about a month. So understand this simple message today- You may be training for a marathon that takes place in July right at this very moment on the 3rd of January by running on a treadmill in a stale fitness center somewhere. Why?
The Workout-
Ease into the day as best you know how followed by:
One Hour Swimming as best as you can

Accept the fact that working out and living a healthier life in any fashion is inherently good in our book. Shake weight, pole dancing etc (although X-Fit Yoga is still flippantly idiotic).
Explore more holistic, earth friendly workout programs and how to integrate them into our fad social media driven society.
Strive to be even more pithy and dense in our posts. Something all Random Fitness blog-o-sphere peeps should consider.
We are not perfect here at CultFit HQ, not even remotely close for that matter. If falling down the stairs for time is your thing? Cool. Just know we are here to offer a glimpse, a perspective you may not see as you wait in traffic driving to workout. Now where is that Ab Mat Uncle Mo gave us for Hanukkah?
So on that note…If you are bored today sitting in front of your worn down Google machine. Give it a gentle slap and search away for: CrossFit torrents

So on another note…unless CrossFit or any variation et al does something patently stupid this year, we are finished stoning them to death.

If you have a special connection with this following article, it’s ok we understand. We spent a whole year trying to explain to the masses that the marketing behind the product is actually better than the product itself. Were willing to bet you could make a list of at least ten other health related products that fit the same parameters as coconut water.
The Workout-

Walking Lunge for 10 minutes both forward and backward (be creative and mix it up)
Bridge Work for Ten minutes (use your Google machine to look some variations up)
Swimming for One Hour
Meditation for at least 45 minutes at the end of your day

Thank you for all the feedback, both positive and negative! It really does help us here at CultFit HQ no matter what the naysayers opine. Also, to all our athletes who competed this past weekend (you know who you are…) congratulations on the podium finishes! Training to lead a healthy life and to produce measurable results…what a novel idea, huh?
The Plan-
Think of some movements this morning that you have been neglecting of late and why you have been putting them on the back burner. If they are there for a reason i.e they make you hurt or aggravate an old injury, leave them there for good! The idea today is craft a series of movements that augment your training goals in addition to the proven movements that have been working for you of late.
The Workout-

Walk/Run-Run-Run/Walk…Tempo run peeps, find a good pace and stay in the groove for 30 minutes.

Perfect Dips
