Never Be the Same

In fact, we are not only reborn at the time of death, we are born and reborn at every moment-
Where would one start on the path of not being an Epic Douche?
Step one is to become aware of what and how we are thinking. Training in the gym is easy, training ourselves to be aware every second of the day of how our mind is working. The thoughts, The thinking patterns and our fundamental tendencies: Takes Time and is infinitely Hard.
Make this a habit above all else. When you set your workout/running playlist? Record a note at the beginning reminding you to be aware. A sticky note on the fridge or the dash in your car helps as well.
There is one little problem with awareness: It brings about a heightened sensitivity to the world and the other douche bags that walk Mother Earth with us. We become judgmental (just look at her ass in those Lululemon pants) and critical of ourselves (why do I always lack energy and motivation). Say hello to the never-ending vicious cycle of negativity (think of this as you read your blog roll today …). We need to Patiently (<— Key Word) learn to accept what we see and understand. Our new-found acceptance of the world leads to genuine love and positive thinking.
You can still be aware and an epic douche bag, look no further than Old Uncle Mo!
There are various techniques to help assist us in changing our attitude. A slap up side the head or a little Yoga Nidra help immensely in shaping our mind and thoughts.
The Plan-
The Workout-
Trail Run/Bike and a few Hill Sprints to get the juices flowing. Followed By:
10 Ring Dips or Regular Dips (It’s not the end of the world if you do not have rings)
20 Walking Lunges (Each Leg)
30 Seconds Jumping Rope (If you count reps … Douche?!? Get into these for 30 seconds)
Ten rounds? Sure, sounds spot on!!!
Notes:
We often lose track that every thought generated in our mind is also experienced by every cell in our body. Ever feel hot and sassy after a good run or workout, while on the bad days we feel stiff and lethargic?
Take care today and ENJOY!!!

Only virtuous actions can benefit others. Therefore, I will not be attached to these ties and I will cast them away as I would a snake in my lap.
… We can still live free, while living in our current high-tech society by taking the time to simplify our lives. How? Physical and Mental De-cluttering. It does take some time to realize that our material possessions do not bring us the happiness that simple immaterial experiences do … A kiss, A hug, a nice run. By getting rid of these unnecessary “things” we allow room for new “things” to come into our lives. Taking part in a regular “spring cleaning” can help us to live every day as if it was a fresh start.
No longer will you be held back by your past…
The Plan-
The Workout:
Trial Run and Hill Sprints to get the blood flowing … Followed By:
200m Sprint (Embody the word Sprint-Cool)
20 Heavy Double Kb Front Squats (If your pretty little elbows touch your body at anytime? Start over from zero)
Eight is a pretty remarkable number to shoot for …
Notes-
Later today we are going to have a good friend over for a chat and maybe some tea. The lovely Laura Yochelson will be over to talk about her new book ” In the name of BEING WELL, I made MYSELF SICK.”
Be well this morning and ENJOY!!!

Themes, Currents and Trends
What if we told you that practicing mindfulness is important? More important than running and updating your Facebook status after said run (come on – you know you do it)?!? Here’s the deal Hot Shot: Practicing mindfulness IS more important than running, maybe now you are more likely to remember to do it … Before, during and after you run (Runners are easy to agitate so feel free to insert something you enjoy more than running as an example).
Some of you have noticed the trend around here of late. The trend being that the key to practicing mindfulness is to simply practice focusing your attention onto ONE (<— Key word) direct sense, and to practice this often, like right now. Can you feel your right index finger clicking away on your worn out mouse? There are many ways you can practice mindfulness: While eating at a quaint curbside cafe, walking Fido after dinner, talking to your little ones at the park. You can practice mindfulness doing just about anything really (the exception is using Instagram of course).

All of us lead busy lives, our responsibilities become greater each and everyday. The only constant in our lives is change.
Many, if not all of our biggest missteps daily occur because our lives are out of balance. Let us help you today to tip the scales away from stress and chaos, towards happiness and peace of mind. One of the most powerful ways to do this is through open honest dialog amongst friends and nursery rhymes. <— What?!?

This may or may not be the hardest program you have ever participated in?!? 5k- Easy, X-Fit- Cake, Boot Camp- Whatever …
Crocodile Breathing while learning/speaking (aloud) a simple nursery rhyme in Catalan, simple stuff right?
First we need a spiffy nursery rhyme: The Rooster and the Hen
The rooster and the hen
Were on the balcony,
The hen was falling asleep
And the rooster gave her a kiss.
-Naughty, more than naughty!
What will people say?
-Let them say what they want,
For now I’m happy!
Now the translation in Catalan:
El gall i la gallina
Estaven al balcó,
La gallina s’adormia
I el gall li fa un petó.
-Dolent, més que dolent!
Què dirà la gent?
-Que diguin el que vulguin
Que jo ja estic content!
Either you can write the translation down or use your iPad thingy, your choice? Find a comfy spot on the floor, tummy side down to work on our Crocodile Breathing (Google it if you are unfamiliar with this breathing technique). Allow your controlled breath to take you away, a state of calm. While you practice your nursery rhyme. This is not a contest, sword fight, or struggle. When you feel you can comfortably say the rhyme (aloud)? Stand up and give it a go. If you fail? Back to the floor it is for you … It took Uncle Mo 3 tries and 40 minutes of practice. The hardest 40 minutes of work he has done in quite some time.

‘Merican linguist Benjamin Lee Whorf was spot on when he stated: “Language itself shapes a man’s basic ideas.”
Language transforms our daily experiences and firmly connects us to the past as well as to our future. Language sparks our imagination, connects us to one another. Take the time with us this week to be mindful of how important language is to our perception of reality.
No tienes nada que perder y todo que ganar por unirse a nosotros en esta práctica consciente de esta semana.
