Good morning dear reader! If you stopped by today to hang out and read about the wonderful breakfast we have planned and the totally awesome workout we will be doing later? Now is a good time to scurry along and live vicariously through another blog-o-thingy. Authenticity…We love your “cute” little pictures of the charming breakfast you put together just as much as the next peep. Is it really you? We’re saying it’s not and the sooner we all agree to this the sooner we can press on…
Our struggle with authenticity transcends fitness and it hit us yesterday reading through some interesting blogs. We read maybe fifty blogs yesterday (a small sample size) of peeps proclaiming their excellence during a normal Monday; one after another making life seem so great with big broad smiles, fantastic dinner ideas and bloviated opinions. As the “likes” started pouring in…We applauded their terrific Pottery Barn perfect lives. Five fleeting minutes later we were left doubting what we had just digested: Were these peeps real? How many of these people are there lurking on the inter-webz?
With the evolution of our hyper obsessed, media driven society. It truly is hard to believe anyone’s appearance is real anymore, on-line or in real life (is there even a difference now?). Call us crazy or old-fashioned but we like to believe that there are areas of our lives that will remain free from this growing trend in our society. In the end, “WE” understand it’s not really possible to enrich/enhance who we are as individuals without working on ourselves from the inside out, or without authentic hard work.
The Plan-

Today’s sign of the Apocalypse: Broga Yeah you read that right and trust us: It is what you are thinking it is…Now as much as we poke light-hearted fun at all the yoga/soccer moms sitting in their shiny black suv’s today. Of course they are wearing their “toe” concealing Lululemon pants…Silly question! It’s only fair that we throw the dudes under the bus as well. Just the other day outside a local co-op we overheard the many “benefits” that Broga has for the male species. The only item we would like to add: Dudes, if you are going to do this do it right…Speedos just like the Spanish fellows were wearing in Majorca last summer!
Moving on…What better way to follow-up the pop quiz from yesterday…Oh, a test! It won’t hurt we promise…CLICKY HERE when you have a free moment sometime this morning. We understand life is busy right now. Really, there are so many choices of organic baby carrots to choose from at the market today. “Who has the time to worry about “my body”? Certainly not me!?!” Take solace in the fact that these posts do in one way or another flow together. Just like the concomitant injuries you keep tossing around from day-to-day. Chances are tripping on a twig during your morning trail run closely correlates with the fact you left the toilet seat up last night and the old lady proceeded to put a beat down on you (rather a brisk beat down to boot)!
Simply: Take the time to listen, daily: Every waking minute of the day. Who knows one of these days you may break in two only to try to explain to the doc how it’s your wife’s fault!?!
The Plan-
This concludes our diet chat for the year. Thanks for reading…Watching!

45-60 Second Hand Stand Hold

Six to seven minutes or so in a hand-stand and 140 Perfect Push Ups…How hard can it be? Pretty darn hard especially if you don’t use a wall…
Notes:
Well this is what 300 hundred feels like…300 posts that is. Like life this has been a journey, albeit a splendid one due to one simple reason: You!!! *Fighting back crocodile tears* Throw out all the self glorifying stats that drive some here on the blog-o-sphere to do some pretty profound and lame things. When we get a comment or an email from a passionate peep who shares our simple message: “Listening to and respecting your body”? That’s all that matters to us here, honestly! Be well friends, yeah life sucks at times (not as much as the 8am class at YogaMed…JaJa pervs!!!) just keep in mind that “You alone are the best workout tool you will ever need“, ENJOY!!!

Have you ever witnessed something that makes you stop right in your tracks and watch in awe? Something truly amazing, something you have probably never seen before? We had one of these moments last night and we would like to share it with you this morning…Honestly stop whatever is occupying you at this moment and let yourself be amazed for eight minutes!
We had originally planned to beat some topic to death today…let this video sink in for a moment, life is truly amazing!!!
Earlier in the week we spoke about (albeit briefly) Changing the Definition of Fitness. Fitness can be anything you like, so if wandered over here and made it this far? Change fitness to…pixie dust if you like.
It truly is important to note that we are forever changing, right now as an example; you just changed. Each and every time you beat yourself up for going through the same old thing again chances are the experience is more nuanced this time around, hopefully with more insight then you had before. This new experience is always changing…Each and every pico second of the day.
What do we expect you to take away each time this happens? Please take note that there are days when you may not want to exercise, eat right, go train, whatever . This is not the end of the world and we know for a fact that you will get out and exercise again! This is what we like to call Changing the Definition of Fitness and getting back to your true self, back to your goals, and back to another opportunity to redefine them in a more nuanced and personal manner.
The Plan-
Perspective: Either this is the best news in the world or the worst? Where do you stand?!? LINK
The Workout-
Pulled from our “Have a smile on your face” series here at CultFit HQ:
We have written ad nauseam about performing or engaging in a program that you thoroughly enjoy. If you feel inclined go back and re-read all 290 or so posts that point this out. So on that note:
Not for time…
One Hour Swimming rinse off and followed by:
Deep meditative yoga…you know where we stand on yoga so this is not the crap you do down at YogaMed or film yourself in the living room in tight Lululemon attire to post on MeTube later…
15 Minutes of Leg Drains and 15 Minutes of Inversions
Notes:
Life is more important than just working out. Watching your kids play, witnessing a magical moment in life…It’s moments like these where we need to step back and ENJOY who we are and where we are. Have a great weekend watching the Australian GP and be sure to cheer for CultFit Racing Team member: Lewis Hamilton! Be safe and ENJOY!!!

Looking back it may have been wise to let you know that this weeks posts are trying to flow together in one way or another. Grandpa-pa Moses pointed this subtly out last night: “You bloviating fools spend so much damn time writing and chatting about something that in essence is so simple!”
“Get up and move everyday…”
That is 89 years of old man wisdom there peeps…In essence we all do this on any given day, right? For most of us this simple idea begins to travel sideways as soon as we step out of bed though, sadly. We could beat this topic into a righteous death daily like so many blog-o-sphere types do…But why really?!? Only YOU know what it takes to get back to the purity of Grandpa Moses message…
The Plan-
Allow us to dip our toes into murky waters today for just a moment. We are here to empower you not to provide self-serving recommendations or instruct your every move during a program. There are fundamental movements you need to pattern before you add serious weight! These need to become second nature like picking your nose in your mom’s basement. Case in point: Turkish Get Ups. 89.2% of you can barely walk and download an app little lone put all the pieces together to properly put some serious weight over you head! And now you are going to go off to the “box” and do AMRAP in 20 minutes?!? More power to you…Quick timeout for a few obligatory links to warm your heart:
These Links are Must Read(s) Peeps!!!
Overly Aggressive Workouts Put Athletes at Risk
The Workout-
Trail Run/Walk/Swim for about 45 minutes or so followed by:
100 Alternating Goblet Squat Pivots
100 Reverse Lunges (No weight – No Shoes)
Spend 30 Minutes messing about with the Turkish Get Up (Start with what you learned yesterday and continue to pattern this critical movement)
Notes:
Today’s top tip: Swimming and stretching in the pool prior to a hard workout…Let’s just say your body will thank you later in life. Be safe today and ENJOY!!!
