It is the presence of mind that makes me unaware of everything else-
It never fails folks. I string together a series of post(s) discussing spirituality, intimacy, love, passion, yoga, meditation, mindfulness and inevitably the emails come pouring in with such graceful comments like:
“All this stuff you have been trying to talk about – comes naturally. Especially intimacy and physical relationships. If you need instructions on how to enjoy these, something is wrong with you.”
What is the underlying reason that discussing our feelings, no matter what they may be – Rattles our cage so much?
There are those among us (check your blog role and yoga studio) who solely identify themselves as spiritual simply by observing holy practices, being a natural lover, super flexible and sporting the latest fashion trends. This behavior Dear Reader? Is akin to calling ourselves athletes when we are merely spectators of a sport …
Are you a fan (short for fanatic), a spectator of yoga, cycling, sex, running, walking – whatever? Or are you a participant?
Embracing a spiritual life requires participation over observation for the encounter, surrendering to a spiritual transformation.
Notes:
Have a beautiful weekend and please take care.

Health is about balancing those things with your desires. It’s about nourishing your spirit as well as your body-
I’m sitting at the Whole Foods coffee bar waiting for my shade grown – Mexican Oaxaca french press to finish up, looking around for a tasty treat to share with myself. I have no idea what I want: Blueberry scones, a warm chocolate chip croissant, gluten-free – carrot cake cupcakes!?! The choices were never-ending!
All these scrumptious options leave me confused, hungry, wanting. Which “treat” is just right for me? Is a recipe for disaster.
Although during vulnerable times such as these, it seems like we are bombarded from every direction with messages from family, friends, the friendly barista about how we should live our lives.
When Whole Foods, whatever or whoever dictates how you should live your life, it becomes infinitely harder to be true to your true authentic self.
Notes:
I enjoyed my coffee a la carte, like I always do. Not the most authentic moment of my morning but pretty close none the less. Taking a firm position allowed me to smile a little brighter … attracting the life (coffee) I really wanted.

While some of us are still recovering from a recent yoga class, marathon or triathlon. Many more of us are wounded from life, a lost loved one and the Red Wings making the playoffs. These difficult experiences develop our unique preferences and deeply connect us to other beautiful people (all of you reading today) exuding a common struggle, a sense of hope amongst us. One profound and really cool aspect is that we do not need any particular musical or artistic ability to benefit from the healing arts.
Let’s get a little personal for a bit, we’re all adults here …
Our spiritual healing requires harmonizing a few of the aspects of being “human”: Each one of us has been gifted with the ability to experience and create whatever we like. The arts help us to channel our personal exploration through self-expression or delving into one’s spiritual agony with listening and seeing. Many of you may not truly understand how powerful your written word is! Self-expression scratches beneath the surface, revealing the sources of our personal struggles and hardship. It’s through this process of examining who or what situations spark spiritual discomfort. We discover the hindrances of wellness (think about this thought …). The arts provide a vital resource to avoid or manage such triggers in the very near future.
Creating a new masterpiece transforms your inner pain, awkwardness, into something tangible. Something you can physically separate from your mind and sink your teeth into. Everyday hopes and fears can be transcribed to the world … Feelings we shouldn’t be ashamed of and suffocated as we awaken today.
Celebrate you, through your creativity today. What better way to start the healing process?!?

I dedicate every pore to what’s here-
Thanksgiving is already here and taking a page from the retail sector … Let’s skip thinking about Thanksgiving and look forward to a favorite subject of ours: New Year’s resolutions.
“This will finally be the year I lose twenty-five pounds, stop drinking on the weekends (until St Patrick’s Day … ), save some money, finish the basement, spend more quality time with the family.” Do any of these resolutions sound familiar? The arrival of the Holiday Season naturally lends itself to valiant attempts on our part at making a fresh start. The problem is that these resolutions are not so easy to achieve.
What if we told you, today – the day before Thanksgiving can be your New Year?!?
It’s time to sober up peeps, go ahead and take another self pic of yourself on the scale to post and look in the mirror instead of looking at your phone as you take another glamorous duck face pic … Do not avoid your current health in this moment, reflect on your current health. This moment is your second chance.
Our culture is obsessed with instant transformations and makeovers, hello: Turn the TV on one evening and what do you see?. What we just asked you above is not easy and making firm resolutions for genuine change is even harder. In this moment reflect and your past and commit yourself to genuine change.
What were you thinking this time last year … The vicious cycle begins anew.
The Plan-
Link of the Day: Un-Hear-It <— This is a must clicky today peeps!?!
The Workout-
Some Happy Hips and a little Balance Beam work followed by:
Hill Sprint + 15 Hard Style KB Swings (at the top)
20 is a nice harmless number.
**If you are going to beat the hell out of yourself all Holiday Season? Might as well do it in a nurturing fashion then …**
Notes:
Reflect, today is your second chance … ENJOY!!!
