Have you ever witnessed something that makes you stop right in your tracks and watch in awe? Something truly amazing, something you have probably never seen before? We had one of these moments last night and we would like to share it with you this morning…Honestly stop whatever is occupying you at this moment and let yourself be amazed for eight minutes!
We had originally planned to beat some topic to death today…let this video sink in for a moment, life is truly amazing!!!
Earlier in the week we spoke about (albeit briefly) Changing the Definition of Fitness. Fitness can be anything you like, so if wandered over here and made it this far? Change fitness to…pixie dust if you like.
It truly is important to note that we are forever changing, right now as an example; you just changed. Each and every time you beat yourself up for going through the same old thing again chances are the experience is more nuanced this time around, hopefully with more insight then you had before. This new experience is always changing…Each and every pico second of the day.
What do we expect you to take away each time this happens? Please take note that there are days when you may not want to exercise, eat right, go train, whatever . This is not the end of the world and we know for a fact that you will get out and exercise again! This is what we like to call Changing the Definition of Fitness and getting back to your true self, back to your goals, and back to another opportunity to redefine them in a more nuanced and personal manner.
The Plan-
Perspective: Either this is the best news in the world or the worst? Where do you stand?!? LINK
The Workout-
Pulled from our “Have a smile on your face” series here at CultFit HQ:
We have written ad nauseam about performing or engaging in a program that you thoroughly enjoy. If you feel inclined go back and re-read all 290 or so posts that point this out. So on that note:
Not for time…
One Hour Swimming rinse off and followed by:
Deep meditative yoga…you know where we stand on yoga so this is not the crap you do down at YogaMed or film yourself in the living room in tight Lululemon attire to post on MeTube later…
15 Minutes of Leg Drains and 15 Minutes of Inversions
Notes:
Life is more important than just working out. Watching your kids play, witnessing a magical moment in life…It’s moments like these where we need to step back and ENJOY who we are and where we are. Have a great weekend watching the Australian GP and be sure to cheer for CultFit Racing Team member: Lewis Hamilton! Be safe and ENJOY!!!

Review from yesterdays post:
Is Nicolas Cage a good actor?
Is blindly following a recommendation from a celebrity via Twitter a prudent move?
Threading this together with one of our ongoing themes here: Is following a Random Fitness recommendation a healthy long-term decision?
Today’s Sign of the Apocalypse:
Charge your iThingy while breathing (<—-Once you click this link you will not be able to un-see the horror that lies before you!)
The words “Fitness and Health et al” are intimately intertwined in our culture. Agree or disagree? Post a comment after reading further…”So like ugh where are you dudes going with all this?” As more and more Random Fitness peeps begin to integrate Fitness/Health routines there are some that are not integrative in the least. To dig a bit deeper this morning: Integrative means you’re integrating the practice of a wide variety of fitness programs in the hope of making yourself healthy and whole.
You can calm down now, we are not trying to pooh-pooh the value of your program (Remember that is an EASY ARGUMENT to make). Basically we are proposing to you a definition of Fitness/Health that incorporates the physical body, spirituality and a sense of overall well-being.
Quick Talking Points:
When did the end result outweigh the process? We need to understand that we simply do not wake up in harmony and balance. There are a million ways to go about discussing this…Would it be safe to say that our quest is not linear, or point to point? And that we are prone to going through periods of re-doing previous programs and routines? Now what would happen if we tried to join these last two thoughts together?
The Plan-
One of the main problems facing us is that we believe that we should be able to accomplish something without actually putting in any effort.
The Workout-
Warm Up into a healthy lather this morning and carry on with the following:
150 Heavy Hard Style KB Swings (keep these snappy today – feel free to break them up into digestible bits – nail down solid form!)
30 second Pull Up Hang (let go of all stress and lengthen out) followed by:
25 Perfect Push Ups (focus on breathing and allowing said breath to release you from the bottom)
About four times is good enough for the above two movements
Finish up today with the following:
15-20 Minutes performing a Turkish Get Up with no weight!!!
Here’s the trick: Find something round and odd to use instead. A six-inch diameter Mickey Mouse bouncy ball you bought for the kiddos a while back works. We will even allow one of those five-pound exercise balls. You need to be able to palm it, not grip it with your finger tips! Focus your eyes through your palm and watch what happens…Tough little albóndiga with a 2 pood kb performing the TGU but you just dropped a Mickey Mouse ball on your head?!? How do you feel now tough guy?
Notes:
We are trying to pull four or five different theories/thoughts/anything together above in our post…always easy to chat about over a few pints although tough to iron out in a blog post. Patience is advised and as always feel free to chime in to add to our dialog today! Most importantly have fun today and be prepared to be humbled doing the TGU’s, ENJOY!!!

Pop quiz time peeps! What color is the sun? If you answered “Yellow” it’s time to pack a lunch and head back to kindergarten.
Read up and prepare to feel great shame: Color of the Sun
In case you didn’t think the above article was accurate enough:
The Plan-
You are what you do, no more no less. A state of calm and relaxation is a path that takes us though many dark areas of our lives. Uncle Kurt Vonnegut’s advice: “We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.”
Too many times we are lured by the quick and easy way to achieve better health, How many of you take Self Magazine or Men’s Health to the gym to try a new program? If your journey is to reach vanity instead of peace continue doing what you have been doing all along.
We would be held in contempt if we didn’t share these articles with you today:
What Questions Are You Asking Yourself?
The Workout-
From our “Are you kidding me” series here at CultFit HQ
Bike/Swim/Trail Run (put some effort into it- say like 170% of your VO2 MAX?)
Not for time…Tabata Smile
20 Seconds of a genuine Smile followed by:
10 Seconds of Calm
Do this for four minutes followed by:
5-5-5-5-5 Perfect Pull Ups (different grip each pull)
5-5-5-5-5 High Plank Walk Outs
5-5-5-5-5 Staggered Hand Perfect Push Ups
40m Sprint out and back- Rinse and repeat
The same % of peeps who “get” the message above also routinely smile throughout the day!
Notes:
We’ve done it again here at CultFit HQ. We have wasted your precious time for the past week rambling on about trivial matters in our daily lives. How will you ever accept our sincere apologies? Anyways, have a wonderful weekend and stay healthy, ENJOY!!!

What’s your excuse?
The Plan-
You know what? A good rattling of the old body and brain is always a good thing, right? The program today parlays nicely with what we did yesterday although if you did not heed our warning about mid line stability? Today is going to be hell and will expose a lot of weaknesses you need to address soon.
The Workout-
From our “Oh Wait…” series at CultFit HQ:
Bike or Swim for an hour followed by:
150 Hinge Walkout Perfect Push Ups (Five Second Count)
For those of you playing at home this is how you go about doing it:
Feet together toes spread out grabbing the floor.
Hands on hips – Hinge sliding hands down the back of the legs.
Walk forward to a High Push Up Plank position – You should be on your tippy toes!
Five Second count Perfect Push Up – Hinge and walk hands back up your legs to standing. Rinse and Repeat!
This is toro mierda (jajaja)!!! “150 of these damn things!” Yup, 10 walk outs and 15 Perfect Push Ups each time. Should take about 15 minutes if you didn’t mess something up yesterday…Hmm?!?
Notes:
Nothing like performing something that is so easy on paper and coming to the realization that the movements serve a purpose and have meaning. Don’t look at these last two programs as something adverse, rather see them as a challenge to persevere through, ENJOY!!!

According to our critically acclaimed research department here at CultFit HQ: We are three days into January and already 98.4% of our dear albóndigas are over training. Who Knows, maybe it’s part of a grand scheme of some sorts or another.
The pic below may be useful to you, a guide more or less. For us it’s a placeholder and we are blaming it on our AADD. Last year our posts were in essence all over the place covering a wide range of topics on any given day.
The Plan-
Some like to say “potato”, some like to say “potato”…Others like “Random” and we like to throw a wrench into the works and say “Variation”. Our reasoning for doing this is actually quite simple. Research has shown that muscle groups adapt to a specific training stimulus in roughly three weeks and then plateau. Basically- Everything works for about a month. So understand this simple message today- You may be training for a marathon that takes place in July right at this very moment on the 3rd of January by running on a treadmill in a stale fitness center somewhere. Why?
The Workout-
Ease into the day as best you know how followed by:
One Hour Swimming as best as you can
Notes: A few readers asked about our annual year-end holiday blow out over the weekend. Needless to say it was a raging success and yes we have pics to prove it, ENJOY!!!
