Hmm Hmm…Don’t mind us as we puff out our masculine chest and spew machismo all about. Oh, sorry didn’t mean to get sweat all over your precious new Athleta Yoga top. Feel free to slide off your comfy Sanuks before you settle in this morning on the couch. We just poured a nice cup of Mr. Grey and chances are the kettle is still warm as evidence of the stream still gently rising into the air. If for some chance you thought things could not get any worse around here after yesterday’s Nickelback, Facts vs. Ignorance and dog balls post? Think again dear peep, its Thursday!!! Speaking of which we have never invited you into our pristine kitchen arena here at CultFit HQ? How rude…
We love food and heating things up in the microwave and basically we would like to share some of our offerings with you. So without further delay…Feast your eyes on our picturesque dinning options and like we always do on Thursday “Best Caption Wins Something”:
The Plan-
The Workout-
Rest Day…
Without spouting off and going on a twisting rant we understand that Rest Days are the hardest part of your workout program. “Like duh…How do I get better by meditating in the car on the way to work?” or “Shit Son…I have a race this weekend and I am 15 miles low for my mileage this week!”
The simple truth: Your hyper stimulated brain never needs to rest: Go, Go, Go all the time! Problem is: You have this thing called “Your Body” and your body secretly hates your brain and every thing your brain does to it. Is it too much to ask to listen to your body for one day? Luckily for you dear peeps we have a “Body” and a “Brain” on retainer here at CultFit HQ…Here is a recent conversation we overheard in the bathroom three stalls over:
BODY– “I’m sore, that’s all.”
BRAIN– “I wonder who else is in here? Work sucks, kids are turds, what is the rep scheme today? God Vancouver sucks and the Penguins blew it! Damn Russians and who ever liked the Sedin twins to begin with? Jesus, look at this! Who put the toilet paper in the dispenser backwards? Now I’m screwed with bad luck for the rest of the day! Shit I forgot my lunch…Well Whole Foods is right next door to work, I’ll just do that instead of going home in lunch traffic. Hmm if I do go home I could stop by the co-op and do some yoga at YogaMed? Yeah, sounds like a plan. Almost forgot about the NFL draft, talk about a bunch of losers that watch that crap for four days straight! Tom Brady is still hot as hell!!! Time to wipe and go someone is coming in…Ahhh man not right next to me…”
BODY– “I’m sore, that’s all.”
Notes:
Have an awesome day, Rest Up and ENJOY!!!

Thursdays never seem to arrive quick enough during the week, do they? There are a million other things to do on any other ordinary Thursday. Sometimes we like to compare the ingredients in organic brown rice? Other times there is a Arnica Oil on the market that simply sounds too good to be true. In the end we consider Thursdays a time to step back and reflect on all the amazing things happening around us…You know what? It’s “Best Caption Wins Something” time:
The Plan-
The Workout-
Your choice…Either a nice refreshing Rest Day or one of our fave workouts pulled from our “Don’t Stop, Don’t Puke” series here at CultFit HQ?
If you choose the workout? Well, it’s not much of a workout but rather a nasty little test we like to do from time to time to chart progress amongst our dear followers.
Today’s Top Tip for aspiring fitness albóndigas: You can learn more watching someone walk and performing a plank than you can HSPU’s or prone running.
The Test: Hinge Walk Out to a High Push Up Plank…Feet together, Hinge, Walk your Hands out to a High Plank Position, Head in a neutral position and actively pushing through the floor with your delicate little hands.
Anything less than three minutes and you fail our test. There is no amount of crunches, ab mat situp’s, yoga, core blast, 6 weeks to a 6 pack routines you can do to prepare for this today.
If at anytime you lose stability in your upper body, STOP. If your hips drop, STOP. If you start building tension in your neck, STOP!!! If you seriously want to mess yo self up disregard the previous notes!?!
Hinge, Walkout, High Plank…How hard could it be?
Notes:
By all means give our test a go and see where you stand. Some glaring weaknesses will present themselves after 30 seconds…Most importantly do this safely and ENJOY!!!

*sniff-sniff* Shhhh, come over quietly: like on your tipsy toes or something. You gotta check this out…JaJa we had you going there for a minute! It’s only Uncle Bruce coming in from the turnip field to put his feet up to rest on this glorious Thursday morning. Another week here is quickly coming to an abrupt end, it’s all good though. We’re all comfy nestled up close to a cup of green tea, perfect temp and perfect blend(China Green Quince). Almost forgot about the blueberry bagel in the toaster…while we get that sorted…Feel like a quick game of “Come up with a creative caption?” So do we, so with no further delay:
The Plan-
You know the type: “Man my knee sure is sore after the run today. What time are we going to kill “it” again tomorrow?” Or what about the peep who laments about all sorts of knee issues while sporting a knee brace? Well, we have a game for you: Virtual Knee Surgery(<–No joke give it a GO!!!)
Obviously “Those People” have a deep disrespect for their body/soul and think life is one big old game where YOU are the most important piece. Pics of high scores get some goodies!!!
The Workout-
Rest Day…Spring is in the air and your body likes to be out in the elements (so we were told). If going outside is a foreign idea to you? Well today would be the perfect day to go for a walk!
Notes:
We tip our hat to you Mr/Mrs Space Bat…R.I.P!!! Now only if some of you picking the wedgie out of your crack this morn’ would attack life with the same conviction?!? Have an awesome day, ENJOY!!!

Ahhh can you believe how nice it is outside right now at precisely this moment in time? Our apologies if you are still in bed reading on your new iPad…Maybe a spoiler alert would have been nice? Yup its Thursday once again here at the pristine confines of CultFit HQ and that could only mean one thing, rest! No…not that kind of rest. There is no three on one-off rubbish around here although active rest could be applied at times (if playing on a play ground fits into your definition?). Our rest is more intimate and personal rather than a time to recharge our vanity fuel cells like most of you do on your rest days. Who cares moot point in our book and no sense fretting over it…
New Feature for Thursday’s!!! Best caption to the pic below wins something (don’t ask us what that something may be) and will be judged via comments and amongst your blog-o-sphere peers…Without further delay:
The Plan-
Take the high road/easy argument path if you like although keep in mind that “yes” the video is funny…although something really good is going on here and some of the movements? Well let’s just say “SOME PEOPLE” out there on the inter-webz think they are extremely intuitive and cutting edge in their WOD errr program design…
The Workout-
Rest Day or if you are really itching to do something…Go for a walk.
Notes:
Rest up mates and ENJOY!!!

Today’ s sign of the Apocalypse:
Pinterest Profile- Who really cares?
The Plan-
We can’t help but sit up and take notice when our crack research department chimes in and tells us that our readers require constant hand holding and pats on the back. “No, no you need to eat this and do this exercise little pal.” “Oh don’t worry that your life sucks and has virtually no meaning. Just check out these 10 things to let you know you suck to cheer you up!”
The Workout-
Pick two of the following numbers: 100-200-300-400-500-600-700-800-900-1000
Pick two of the following movements: Push Up-Pull Up-One Arm Press–Lunge-Goblet Squat-Swing-Hinge Walk Out-One Leg Dead Lift-Bent Over Row
Over the weekend: Bent Over Row-Lunge 800/900 respectfully broken up into nice little sets throughout the weekend. Rest assured this can be done! Part of the master plan this week was to intertwine movements into your daily life and routine. Perfection and quality, remember? Beating yourself up doing high rep pull ups is pretty silly and self-serving at the least. 25 or 50 here and another 15-30 there and before you know it you get off the couch and drop into 50 push ups? Obviously some of the movements this week work better than others, it’s part of the bigger picture we try to present to you. Old Uncle Francis here has a squat rack in his garage and he goes through this same program almost weekly.
It all boils down to forming good habits that are easily repeatable and can be maintained.
Notes:
Word to the wise bloggers lurking out there on the inter-webz: It’s Friday, three long days since Valentines Day…Have an exciting and safe weekend peeps, ENJOY!!!
Update: For those of you that are in the know- Please Enjoy!!!
