I Don’t Wanna Grow Up

If there’s one thing about CultFit readers that really stands out: None of us can be considered Normal.
Have you ever been out on a group run (anything else) and suddenly came up limp due to cramps or another issue? Then had one of your friends say, ” Is this normal for you chump?!?“
What may be Normal and unique to you is considerably different from another persons definition of Normal. This is blatantly obvious stuff here peeps yet we forget about it each time we close our eyes at night!
If you hang around or associate yourself with someone who is obsessed with their running times, weight loss, weight being used, shoe size, IQ (all solid examples)? The next time they start lamenting and complaining about not being able to put up Normal numbers … Ask this question and duck for cover:
“Maybe this is your new normal dude?!?“
Put the weapon down Dear Reader and think about what we are presenting to you for one fleeting moment: Our definition of Normal is changing all the time. A marriage here and a couple of kiddos there, suddenly you’re on the lovely side of 37. Last year you had a few surgeries and a few too many beers … You’re not the same person you were when you last defined Normal for yourself.
We spend infinite amounts of energy in the pursuit of getting back to Normal <— This friends: Keeps each and every one of us from moving —> Forward in our lives.
The Plan-
The Workout-

Can we all agree on this lovely Wednesday morning that revenge is an extremely powerful motivational tool?!? Chances are that many of you reading today will use revenge to power you through the workday, an argument or a workout later. Maybe it was an insult someone uttered just loud enough for you to hear while walking on your favorite trail or the rejection amongst friend at the pub Saturday night?!? Either way, we do not want to use revenge as a tool to power us through the day.
The trick, and this is a trick in every sense of the word: Is to try to control our revenge -instinct (just totally made this up although we all have one) and put it to work for us instead of against us. “How“ you may be asking? By simply focusing and using our energy in positive way, this is easier said than done. The best example is exercise. Exercise is an excellent way to blow off the initial steam of negative energy you feel. A Walk/Trail Run/Bike Ride/Run/Swim/Hitting the Weights? All of these work.
“It ain’t worth doing it bro! Let’s take this inside and have a good workout!!!“
The Plan-
The Workout-
Intervals. Not tabata … Intervals peeps.
20 Seconds of Work followed by 10 Seconds of Rest.
In no particular order: Hollow Rocks, Crab Walk, Plank Hold (High and Low), Bear Crawl, KB Snatch.
Reminder: This is not a Tabata program, just a simple 20/10 interval program. Capisce!?!
Notes:
The last few posts have been a tad down trodden to say the least. Holding a grudge, Revenge … What could possibly be next? Maybe, just maybe we are writing with a broad brush stroke for a reason … ENJOY!!!

How many of us hold onto pain long after being hurt by someone close to us? If there is one thing we all share in common … Bearing a grudge against others consistently holds us back. It’s completely natural to experience the full spectrum of emotions ranging from anxiety through to anger and sadness when we grudgingly hold onto pain. Holding on, however, hinders the natural process of emotional healing from reaching resolution.
Let’s remember that forgiveness is simply not about forgetting, excusing or rationalizing what has happened to us. Forgiveness does not involve forgoing justice, or relinquishing any claim to reparation that is due. To forgive is quite possibly the hardest thing we will ever do in our lives … Yes, even harder than a Warrior Dash. Forgiving others requires courage and maturity to listen to and feel the pain, accept the loss and most importantly: Pressing on with life.
The Plan-
The Workout-
We recently uncovered this program from our “Forgiveness“ series of programs here at CultFit.
Gently pick up your trusty Kettle Bell and let’s go for a Walk.
Alternating Goblet Squat Pivots … Settle, ease in and out of the bottom position.
One Arm Waiters Walk … Each Arm. Axilla?!? Fully open to the world!
Don’t fret or worry about reps or sets. Just go for a Walk.
Notes:
The hardest person to forgive? Yourself. Be well today and ENJOY!!!

Lead.Learn.Live … Thank you for your thoughtful nomination of the Inspiring Blog Award. For the longest time we thought there was only one amazing and brilliant person living in British Columbia?!? That’s right … Burnaby’s finest: Joe Sakic!
Practicing the art of giving is something we take very seriously here at CultFit. The act of giving is actually very simple. Yet very few people take the time to give onto others.
Our suggestion as we move along this morning: If you want to lead others with confidence and conviction? Foster the habits that allow you to lead. If you want joy in your life? Take the time to share joy with other people around you. If you want love to accompany you? Learn to give love onto others. If you want to Live life? Pull back the shades a tiny bit and gaze upon what awaits you outside … That is where you learn to live.
When one receives an award such as the Inspiring Blog Award. There are a set of instructions that accompany it, explaining how to pass the award on to others. We just crumpled the instructions up and threw them in the corner with all the other nifty instructions about “Life”! Heck, Did we use the instructions for our IKEA living room set?!? Nope … “Hey, Um … We highly suggest you don’t place your beer right there mate. You have been warned”.
Let’s explore some authentic, inspiring peeps together:
The Plan-
