If there’s one thing about CultFit readers that really stands out: None of us can be considered Normal.
Have you ever been out on a group run (anything else) and suddenly came up limp due to cramps or another issue? Then had one of your friends say, ” Is this normal for you chump?!?“
What may be Normal and unique to you is considerably different from another persons definition of Normal. This is blatantly obvious stuff here peeps yet we forget about it each time we close our eyes at night!
If you hang around or associate yourself with someone who is obsessed with their running times, weight loss, weight being used, shoe size, IQ (all solid examples)? The next time they start lamenting and complaining about not being able to put up Normal numbers … Ask this question and duck for cover:
“Maybe this is your new normal dude?!?“
Put the weapon down Dear Reader and think about what we are presenting to you for one fleeting moment: Our definition of Normal is changing all the time. A marriage here and a couple of kiddos there, suddenly you’re on the lovely side of 37. Last year you had a few surgeries and a few too many beers … You’re not the same person you were when you last defined Normal for yourself.
We spend infinite amounts of energy in the pursuit of getting back to Normal <— This friends: Keeps each and every one of us from moving —> Forward in our lives.
The Plan-
The Workout-
You know that feeling, when you’re lying alone in your warm bed, staring at the ceiling? It’s early morning, the sun is freshly up, beginning to shine on you through the windows. Everything is beautiful yet something is amiss?!?

Normal is a horrible word, be unique, be You! Have a great weekend peeps … ENJOY!!!
Hey I am not normal and I refuse to be! 😀
I knew there was something about you 😉
Being normal is so passe … Hope you have a great day today and an awesome weekend!!!
I am going to my friend and you as well!
It cracks me up how often you & I unknowlingly (or subconciously) find ourselves in the same frame of mind. I just wrote a bit about change last week – and how you can’t stand in the same place while still making progress. Different words – same sentiment – change is normal. If you aren’t changing – then you’re rutting – and you better plan to run b/c moose can be fast. Ahhh – mood lift from the mental image of trying to outrun a giant rutting cartoon moose. Needed that.
You know what they say about great minds right?!? 😉
My theme this week was about digging up thoughts that hold us back … Keep us from moving forward. Hell have no furry like a moose rutting!
And isn’t it GREAT to watch “normal” move in a positive direction?!
Yes, absolutely. 🙂 I hope you have a great weekend!!!
Normal? I wouldn’t know where to start.
I think the last time I was normal … Grade school, maybe? Be well and have a great weekend!
As always, great post. Have an awesome weekend.
Same to you, be well and have fun!!!
“We spend infinite amounts of energy in the pursuit of getting back to Normal Forward in our lives.” That hit me in the sternum. Good and simple, and totally fresh.
Awesome! Not that I got you in the sternum but rather that you really enjoyed it and it resonated whiten you. That’s all I could ever ask for. 🙂
I absolutely ADORE your inspirational mind. It’s so how I think…and I definitely have made it my motto to kick Normal in the face. Maybe that’s why I enjoy kickobxing so much.
Why thank you! I’ll be sure not to write anything that upsets you … I have a fragile face. 😉
Take care this weekend!
My wife and I don’t own cell phones. Just sayin’. 😉
Awesome!
Bravo!
Thank you!!! I hope you and the family have a great weekend. 🙂
Normal… It’s all about your own reality…. hahahaha
BTW – I nominated you for one of THOSE awards. The inspiring ones. Because you do. Do with it what you will 🙂 Thanks for all the inspiration….

I’m Jim. Can I have a #6, normal combo with a side of blah fries and a diet coke?
Awesome post, brother.
Every day is a new normal!
My thoughts exactly!
Normal is SO overrated!
No kidding!!! Thank you for stopping over and I hope you are having a great weekend. 🙂
Who really wants to be normal?????? Not I….enjoying your blog. Thankyou!
I’m so with you on this one! Thank you for your continued support!!! 🙂
I’m not normal. These days, I like to let my freak flag fly high, fly proud. Life is more fun that way!! 🙂
