Be like the tiny grass that grows
In the crevices at a giant mountain’s foot,
Be like the fragrant jasmine flower
Which fills the air with perfume sweet,
Stand like a rock if destiny cruel
Showers you with hardships, big and small,
Be sweet as rock candy to people in distress,
O naive one, just be one among all.
The Plan-
The Workout-
Something new and something fun peeps so please pay attention. Otherwise your face will find itself in a heap. A bloody one at that …
A rather quick and sweat inducing Warm Up of your choosing followed by:
One Arm High Planks (Hinge-Walkout to a high plank pose)
Key points- Index fingers facing straight forward in-line and directly underneath your Shoulders. Index fingers are directly in-line with your Shoulders\Hips\Ankles. Practice this while standing! Your eyes remain neutral, facing forward. Draw your breath in through your nose and tighten your midsection as you walk out (this is critical!).
Here’s the deal hot shots- The most important bit to doing this movement initially is to practice: Index (booger picking) fingers in-line as stated above. Your Walk Out alignment must be spot on!
Play around with this for 15 minutes or so. Try Superman Style (Arm forward, thumb up), Or try our preferred style: Hand on lower back with palm facing up!?! Followed by:
Not For Time …
10 Hinge-Walkout Perfect Push Ups
10 Hard Style KB Swings (Snappy hinge peeps, these are not squats)
250 Perfect Push Ups and 250 Swings sounds just about right.
Uncle Mo says: “You’ll only fall flat on your face once peeps!“
Notes:
Redirect your attention today. Clear your mind and thoughts while trying something new, like our super-duper engaging one arm high plank. Challenge yourself in a way you never have before. And no picking out new kicks and making a play list are not challenging. Now Fantasy Football on the other hand … Have a beautiful weekend and ENJOY!!!

Whatever you do during your stay here at CultFit today. Please do not click over HERE for a bit, not even for a little bit peeps (don’t even think about doing it while watching the video)!?!
The Plan-
The Workout-
Rest Day … A nice peaceful walk followed by a nice chat with a friend.
Not worrying about what we did or did not do yesterday or all the miles lost today … Rest – The hardest “THING“ you will ever do.
Notes:
Whatever you do today please do not rest up and take care of your body and mind. ENJOY!!!
You Spurn My Natural Emotions
Posted: September 5, 2012 Filed under: Random Workout | Tags: fitness, happiness, health, hipster, kindness, life, love, lululemon, marathon, motivation, paleo, pilates, running, sorrow, thoughts, trail running, walking, WOD, yoga 23 CommentsIllustrious the motion in all beings, even the tiniest insect-
Continued from yesterdays little chat …
How many of us have let the moment pass? Failed in the moment to address a problem or correct a mistake on the spot? Maybe some d-bag cut ahead of you at the market. What about that time we overheard a nasty comment to another? Better yet, in the gym we keep telling ourselves to focus on proper form and movements although we never do.
To be fully present, we need not dwell on or waste time with our worries festering in our minds, our minds stuck in inaction … Could have, Should have, Would have peeps?!?
No one knows what will happen next,
Such portents fill the days and nights;
Years prophetical! The space ahead as I
walk, as I vainly try to pierce it, is
full of phantoms, Unborn deeds, things
soon to be, project their shapes around
me, This incredible rush and heat, this
strange ecstatic fever of dreams …The unperform’d, more gigantic than ever,
advance, advance upon me.
The Plan-
The Workout-
Hill Sprints, Yeah Hill Sprints!
Set 15-20 minutes aside to thoroughly Warm Up. Happy Hips and maybe, just maybe our Workout from yesterday.
Not For Time:
25-30 Hill Sprints (90-95% Max Effort)
1-5 Warm Up, 6-10 Snappy – Dynamic (Listen to your body here), 11-15 Push, 16-20 Break through your comfort zone, 20-30 Snappy – Dynamic ( Run ’em out)
Notes:
A tad deep today, for a reason … Who strips away the layers and finds the true meaning? ENJOY!!!
The Gift That Keeps on Giving
Posted: September 3, 2012 Filed under: Random Workout | Tags: crossfit, exercise, fitness, happiness, health, hipster, Labor Day, life, love, lululemon, pilates, recovery, rest, smile, whole foods, yoga 12 CommentsWorldly pleasures seem so very tiring, Like the allergic weed that itches on contact. It itches if you don’t scratch, but it hurts if you do. It is like mocking a dumb man-
Did you take the time to relish the simple pleasures over this long Labor Day holiday weekend? Did you avoid the salacious lure of consumerism during the time you spent out shopping?
Today instead of trying to make up for something we missed this past summer, let us practice contentment: Knowing that enough, really truly can be enough.
The Plan-
Simpler times indeed …
The Workout-
Rest Day of sorts … Try something new on for size and see how you like it today. Report back with your results in the witty comment section below!
Notes:
Wrapping up a four day weekend can be tough, goodness! Rest up peeps, the remainder of the week may get a bit bumpy … ENJOY!!!
Summer Thoughts In a Field of Weeds

Take a look around you this morning and please pay no attention to the wash in the corner. Each one of you reading today is blessed with the power to start your own Salud Revolución! Standing in queue at Trader Joe’s or Waitrose? Walking around the local market comparing yourself to others? Changing a dirty diaper or even getting a ride in a tow truck … At any moment we can change how we think , speak and look at our own bodies.
Let today be the day that you don’t allow the scale in the bathroom dictate your mood for the rest of eternity. Let today be the day while chatting with some old friends during lunch that you talk in a positive fashion about how you view your body. Finally peeps and we cannot overstate how deeply this next thought resonates with us: Chin up, you’re inspiring!
The Plan-
The Workout-
Warm Up as you see fit until a thick hardy lather forms all over your body. Followed by:
50 Goblet Squats (Heavy – Ish)
100m Sprint (Out and Back – Sprint in every sense of the word)
40 KB Hard Style Swings (Find a weight that feels snappy!)
30 Goblet Squats
100m Sprint
20 KB Hard Style Swings
10 Goblet Squats
100m Sprint
Feel free to mix and match the movements as you see fit. However if you perform this program more than one time through? The second time you start with the KB swings …
Notes:
Have we beaten this Life – You message into the ground enough over the past month? Good! We could really write about this subject for ages … Here’s why: That little nugget of grey matter between your ears is rather tricky and down right evil at times. Sabotaging your hard work at each and every turn. A whole months worth of posts summed up in 16 words …
Meditation: Quiet the mind. Reflection: Being fully present. Forgiveness: A starting point. Hope: YOU are amazing!
We change course and sail against the wind this coming Monday, are you onboard and fully present?!? Cool … Have a wonderful weekend* peeps and ENJOY!!!
Say hello to Arnulfo Castorena:
**Especially in ‘Merica!!! The sangria is ready so fire up the grill!!!**
