Welcome to Story Time with Uncle Mo! Feel free to pull up a chair or stand if you like. Chances are you won’t be sticking around much longer?!?
Ahh, the end of Summer is near or is it amateur hour is coming to an end? Summer is a time for runners to flock to the great outdoors! Who am I kidding, anyone can be a runner when its nice outside. Where are these peeps when the cold rain starts falling and the sun stops shinning at 5pm? Yup, inside. Telling stories of great conquest and glory from their summer running days.
Just as you are reading this right now the n00bs are putting away their running shoes and “fuel“ bags … There they lie for a long winters rest. The real runners? Heck, this is the best time of year! Running in MUD for free and not paying to do it with a 1000 other so-called runners. Be careful if you mention snow and early mornings amongst a real, die-hard yeti runner! You may never hear the end of it!
The Plan-
The Workout-
Rest Day … Self Reiki and Walking Meditation.
Notes:
Have a splendid day and ENJOY!!!

Come to order! Quite down now peeps! Seriously, hush up so we can get down to business on this beautiful Thursday morning.
Our first order of business today is to recognize Sal from Mammoth Caves, Kentucky for recognizing the humor behind “Frogballs, Arkansas“. The rest of you should be ashamed and while you’re at it … Put on your great shame faces for the rest of the morning.
The second order of business is to painstaking point out yet again that hipsters are taking over the world! The Fairdale Dograck, peeps!?! So apparently embarrassing the ever-living hell out of your little buddy is cool? For our amusement will someone today try to formulate a solid argument as to why this pet rack is even needed? We have a dude here at CultFit who uses an old Burley D’Lite Kid Kart for his bike to chauffeur Old Bailey around. The kids have outgrown it, Bailey is getting old and wait for it … It’s damn comfortable!!! Plus Bailey can bring a mate along while protecting the ice-cold beer! Hipster bike pet rack: This Dear Reader is the Sign of the Apocalypse!!!
Finally and we are dead nuts serious about this. Rarely, if ever do we use this platform to twist your arm into action. We’re all adults and you are free to do what you please.
Remember when we last spoke about this dashing, fine young man:
If not read up HERE.
Peeps, our dear friend The Oatmeal(<–Must Clicky!!!) is heading up a spirited effort to purchase the land where the Wardenclyffe Tower once stood. There is no museum in the United States dedicated to Nikola Tesla and we need your help!!!
To help support and build a goddamn Tesla Museum please click here: Operation Let’s Build …
To read The Oatmeal and his thoughts about this amazing project: Help Me raise …
For what its worth: We put all of our kids tuition money into supporting this project!!! Oh and Thomas Edison is a douche bag!
The Plan-
The Workout-
Rest Day … Some Self Reiki and Quiet Meditation.
This is why ‘Merica and in particular, Wyoming is the place to be to watch the Perseid meteor shower.
Notes:
We are stoked at the thought of a Tesla Museum being built here in ‘Merica. Any help you guys can toss in is much appreciated! Even if its only sharing with a friend or getting this message out to a wider audience. Any and all help is better than none at all!!! Have a splendid day today peeps and ENJOY!!!

**Reebok X-Fit will leave no fitness program or methodology untouched as it ravages bodies around the globe**
In the basement of our critically acclaimed “CultFit Analytical Department” our researchers have been quite busy of late crunching numbers and watching Ellen. Here’s what they have come up with:
Men Do Everything They Do In Order to Get Laid
and Women Do Everything They Do In Order To Look Like Other Women
What? Did their report rub you the wrong way? Feel free to opine in the always “lively” comments section … Although bear in mind they did just recently publish this report about our future:
The Plan-
The Workout-
Long time readers will recognize this program from our “Open the Backdoor” series of Workouts published a long time ago.
Get out of the tub, Put down the iPad, Forget about taking pictures of your breakfast to post, Lift your chin up and Open the Backdoor to go do something … Obviously the previous sentence was written for the pretentious, delicate YogaMom’s reading today. For the dudes: Get yer ass off the couch and open the door!
We went for a nice Walk to the park and did a bunch of Perfect Pull Ups, that’s it.

Thinking Caps Peeps: There is a reason you read a lot of “WE“ here daily … Increases in Individualistic Words and Phrases in American Books, 1960–2008

Contrary to popular opinion there is some actual ground breaking Psychological Innovation going on around here, ENJOY!!!

What are the chances of you keeping a secret? Cool…We are so excited to announce that on Monday a dear friend will be stopping by to pay a visit. Which reminds us to clean up a bit over the weekend and maybe shave? Anyways, Melissa with Sweet Wholesome Health is kind and gracious enough to share her expertise in all things that can bring us closer to a healthy and happier life. If ever there was a time where we were lost for words this would be that time. Melissa passionately provides pure and thoughtful information that we can all use in our daily lives. Not since when the Boston Bruins were eliminated from the NHL playoffs have we been this excited about something.
Well it’s happened once again. You have wasted precious seconds from your life reading the musings here at CultFit all week. We tossed a fair amount of stuff out into the abysses and we sincerely hope it “clicked” with some of you. Today’s post was going to go over Factual Fitness and Contextual Fitness. But who really cares? We’ll save it for sometime next week…Sound like a plan?
Speaking of which. One way to look at CultFit would be as a conversation amongst all of us (followers, friends and lurkers). If there is something you are passionate about and would like to share please pipe up and send it in. No kidding, Uncle Frank here has a whole weeks worth or writing dedicated to the best hot dogs on earth: Hofmann Hot Dogs!!! You NYC types can take your Sabretts, Nathan’s and well? You know what to do with them!?!
The Plan-
And your excuse today is?!?
The Workout-
Thank you Sister Margret for sending in this little gem of a program before the weekend begins!!!
Warm Up as you see fit…We choose to do a Pulse Trail Run (basically a nice flowing run with pulses/bursts up the steep bits…Followed by:
**You did remember to bring a kettle bell or dumbbell with you to the trail this morning, right? Hmm Farmers Walk to the trail head…?!?**
At this point in our relationship its fair to say that you don’t leave home without some sort of technology strapped to your delicate body every morning. Good because we need something to keep time today or you could be like Uncle Pliny and watch the sun rise above the horizon…15 degrees = 15 minutes or so?
Find a tree and…
Hand Stand Hold (Actively press away from the ground beneath you. Toes point to the sky.) Please do not flop down…Flow and Grace…Followed by:
15 One Legged Dead Lifts (Weight is held opposite of standing leg. Your chin and tail bone are mortal enemy’s…Focus and pull them away from one another!)
Hand Stand Hold
15 One Legged Dead Lifts (Following along so far? Good…)
Hand Stand Hold
15 One Legged Dead Lifts and 15 Perfect One Arm Press (Hinge, DL, Hammer Curl to Rack Hold and Press)
Hand Stand Hold
15 One Legged Dead Lifts and 15 Perfect One Arm Press
At this point you hate life. This program is not a battle or a struggle against humanity! The tree really dislikes you because you slam into it every time for a hold and the ground really does not like having weight dropped on its head. Form, Flow and Grace for at least 30 minutes or so. If you can only do one DL or Press? That’s awesome!!! One perfect rep is better than 15 disastrous ones (think about that for a moment…)!!!
Notes:
If we were to ask one thing of you it would be this: Our sense of community at CultFit revolves around you and our ability share our thoughts openly. What say you?!? Have a great weekend and most importantly, ENJOY!!!
