Volando Alto

License my roving hands, and let them go
Before, behind, between, above, below-

I love everything about seduction. Seduction (to me) is about squeezing every ounce of pleasure, out of every experience we come across and embrace – Fully. Life has taught us what happens when we rush “things“, we can miss the best parts of life … The true essence of seduction – is savoring the moments before …

I find it interesting that we often associate seduction with sex, when in fact, true – passionate seduction is the polar opposite of sex. Sex is when our desire(s) are met. Seduction is not about the culmination or gratification of our desire(s), seduction is the thrill that arises in the pursuit of desire itself.

I may have learned something about seduction while wandering my path recently. That the deep truth to seduction, we so often overlook? Is to slow down, savoring the moment unfolding in front of you. Often at times I think that “things” are not moving fast enough in my life, meandering along to their own whimsical beat. In the past. I wanted things now, before they even happened. Today,  I adjust my thoughts to how I can seduce myself with the idea, the possibility – That everything in this beautiful world changes shape and form – Slowly.

Notes:

Savor everything you are about to enjoy today, embrace seduction as a path to pleasure.

Create Desire

Someone was searching for a Form of Fire.
Bird-eyed, the wind watched.
Four deer in a blowsy meadow.
As though it were simply random, a stately stare.
What’s six and six and two and ten?
Time that my eye ached, my heart shook, why.
Mistaking lime for lemon.
Dressed in cobalt, charcoal, thistle—and control.
If they had more they would need less.
A proposal from the squinting logician.
Seems we are legal, seems we are ill.
Ponderous purpose, are you weather, are you wheel?
Gold with a heart of cinder.
Little blue chip dancing in the light of the loom.
Mistress, May-girl, whom will you kiss?
The death of water is the birth of air.

Pies fríos, amigo?

We are addicted to our thoughts. We cannot change anything if we cannot change our thinking-

Damn! The marathon I signed up for last October is this *bleepin* Sunday!!!

You remember the evening well, like it was yesterday. The focus on the positives of running a marathon were many: free sweat wicking tee, beer tent passes, the chance to buy a new running outfit. However, as the marathon date started to loom ominously on the horizon, the positive thoughts you once shared with others, quickly turned into negative thoughts that you shard with no one.

Even when doubts become overwhelming, when the call to starting line is announced,it feels painfully hard to back out:

What will my friends think? I quit, I’m a chump, a loser? I bought new shoes and a sweet running skirt, I picked up the race packet last night. We have reservations for pizza and beer after.”

What does it mean to have cold feet, anyways? Is it a small, nagging feeling that a huge mistake is being made or is about to be made, or an internal scream that yells, “Hey stop already! It’s not too late!” How serious does the event need to be on order to be “serious enough” to listen to the doubts, weigh them as more important than the embarrassment of not showing up, the risk of potential injury due to the lack of training and preparation, and back out of the marathon at the last-minute?

It’s one thing to have last-minute doubts about running a marathon you thoughtfully planned, trained dutifully for, back in October; it’s something else altogether to have doubts because you failed to train, you are injury prone and your sense of pride out weighs any other mitigating factors. Cute running outfit not matching included as well!

Notes:

Purpose of the post today? That the doubts we all experience before a big event should be taken seriously and not buried with “pride” and “status“. Now is the time for reflection and honesty. Because on Monday … Feel free to expose the painful, underlying reality about your torturous marathon experience in a blog post.

Take care and be well this weekend.

You do

not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
call to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting –
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

Rage or Chill … Which one are you today? Maybe somewhere in the middle, be well and take care.

Somethin’ Else

The mind must learn that beyond the moving mind there is the background of awareness which does not change-

Today we want to spend some time with you exploring what we enjoy the most in life.  We are doing this so we can distract ourselves from our negative thoughts and re-focus on what we enjoy the most!

The success of this post depends on you, our Dear Reader … We’ll get this started off on the right note:

Yoga.  Not the hot, sweaty Old Man Yoga.  Certainly not the competitive, who has the best yoga-pants yoga (You know who you are!?!).  What we enjoy the most is simple, peaceful, meditative, rejuvenating yoga.

The days when we can sit back and not worry about doing anything.  Its wonderful going for a walk in the morning not worrying about an appointment later in the day.

Trail Running/MTB’ing and Cycling.  The peace of being alone with Nature is fine although with the right Mate or Chica?  Time well spent as long as they buy the first drink.

Walking.  Each and everyday.  Yup, It’s not the manliest thing to do or the most ELITE.  Who cares!

We now turn this over to you.  Chime in with a pithy answer on what you enjoy the most!!!

The Plan-

The Workout-

Tools needed for today’s program:  1. A sweet stainless steel goniometer.  2. Look up the degree of motion in a non-weight bearing SI Joint (2.5 degrees) and a weight-bearing SI Joint (0.2 degrees for an average desk jockey peep).  3.  The most important tool … You!

A keen attention to details will pay off handsomely, trust us.  At the risk of making this really wordy and nauseating:  We have really stripped this down to the bare minimum without showing pictures.  If you suffer from a bad back, this program is a must if done correctly.  For more specific directions and maybe pics?  Please by all means email us.  If you want to jack your self up on a lovely Tuesday morning?  Pretend this is an AMRAP, High Intensity interval, Tababta program … You have been warned!

Lets start with a really nice, flowing Sun Salutation series.  Followed by:

**Take a moment to measure three degrees of rotation using your handy-dandy tool, it’s not very much is it?**

While standing (Second toe, knee, hip, boney shoulder bit should all be in-line): Scissor kick <—Horrid exercise but we captured the visual for you, Forward, To the Side, To the Rear:  3 degrees only.  This is a very slight movement:  While standing.  Work on this for a few minutes alternating legs.

**This is the only time you may use a wall for inversions!  Do not do this program in a yoga pose head stand!!!**

Gracefully flow into a Handstand … Level and stacked hips, allow your breath to control tension.  Perform 10 of our slight “kicks” — These are not “kicks” but you get the point.  Front , Side and Rear for each leg.  If you take your time you should be in a Handstand for One Minute.  Flow back down to the earth beneath you and perform 10 Perfect Push Ups.

4 to 5 times through would be a good healthy start.

Notes:

Torque, Force Closure, Pelvic Stability, Load Transfer … What does all this mean exactly?  Feel the twinge in your back when you do crazy mindless movements?!?

Have a splendid day peeps … ENJOY!!!
