You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
call to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting –
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

Notes:
Rage or Chill … Which one are you today? Maybe somewhere in the middle, be well and take care.
AWESOME link!
That’s what I’m here for, if you pay attention long enough … You are kindly rewarded with, hands down, the BEST DAMN LINK on the webz today!
Great song! I’d say I’m more on the rage side with all of my energy. What about you?
I’m a little to the left of “chill”, that’s where you can find almost all of the time. As a quasi geek the ragechill site although seemingly simple to use is really impressive behind the scenes. Be on the lookout for a similar site that offers the same functionality but with workouts instead of music … *hint 😉
Take care today and oh, any chance you have leftovers from dinner?!? Gosh your dinner looked really good.
Thank you for the morning jolt of poetry from Mary Oliver. I had not read her work for some time and wonder why. A poet close to my heart who “pursues inspiration on foot” according to the Wikipedia article – perhaps that it what all of we runners and walkers are doing.
Hmm I think you are on to something this morning. 😉 Inspiration on foot … Take care today. 🙂
Oh thats lovely
One of my many faves by Mary Oliver, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Be well today!
That poem is wonderful! Thank you for posting it! I need to go read more of Ms. Oliver’s poetry!
By the way, I’m “chill” today. 🙂
All the cool cats hang out over here in the “chill” VIP section, pull up a seat and hang out for a bit. 🙂
chilled… chilled as a penguin sitting on ice drinking a martini with sun glasses on watching James Bond in a snow storm…
That’s pretty chill 🙂
chill-tastic 😀
