To truly – Have

Work is not always required. There is such a thing as sacred idleness-

Every moment in our lives is a fresh start. Every breath, every movement we make. We are always at the beginning; Wherever we are along our path in life. Sounds like a song from Sting does it not?!?

I would like to plant a thought in your fertile mind this morning, maybe getting you to think deeper, about “something” we take for granted:

All we truly have is the present moment.

Each day we are living with the consequences of our past choices and actions. A cool dude back in the day – Buddha, taught us that when we hopelessly cling onto our stories about ourselves, or about what we think is destined to happen next, we only create suffering for ourselves.

We can begin anew right now, seriously! Instead of floating along in our habitual, and dare I say: Mindless Ways of being. Press pause and find the beauty in this moment, right now.

Daily Meditation:

Welcome home, to yourself.

La Verdad

The reason I talk to myself is because I’m the only one whose answers I accept-

These truths are a compass leading us along the path of our lives: When we open our eyes, listen to our hearts and scream our truth(s) out loud for all to hear and witness? We find Balance and Center.

Once we find our true path and own it, the key words being Own It – Own your Path. Only then can we set about creating a definitive experience of our sense of place, our sense of identity and our sense of purpose in this beautiful world.

Through seeking purpose, we find identity. With identity, we find our true purpose.

Daily Meditation:

The alternate approach to Owning Your Path … Is waiting. Waiting will only engender suffering, the suffering of longing to be “better” and grasping at a You, that simply does not exist.

Attention

I am not absentminded. It is the presence of mind that makes me unaware of everything else-

It never fails folks. I string together a series of post(s) discussing spirituality, intimacy, love, passion, yoga, meditation, mindfulness and inevitably the emails come pouring in with such graceful comments like:

All this stuff you have been trying to talk about – comes naturally. Especially intimacy and physical relationships. If you need instructions on how to enjoy these, something is wrong with you.”

What is the underlying reason that discussing our feelings, no matter what they may be – Rattles our cage so much?

There are those among us (check your blog role and yoga studio) who solely identify themselves as spiritual simply by observing holy practices, being a natural lover, super flexible and sporting the latest fashion trends. This behavior Dear Reader? Is akin to calling ourselves athletes when we are merely spectators of a sport

Are you a fan (short for fanatic), a spectator of yoga, cycling, sex, running, walking – whatever? Or are you a participant?

Embracing a spiritual life requires participation over observation for the encounter, surrendering to a spiritual transformation.

Notes:

Have a beautiful weekend and please take care.

Life is Better

But he who has not first turned away from his wickedness, who is not tranquil and subdued, or who’s mind is not at rest, he can never obtain the Self by knowledge-

You belong here, Right now.

We all want to change in major ways. We want to be as thin as a sibling, a co-worker. As beautiful as the latest celebrities and as creative as the producers who make their inspiring films. We want to blaze trails as Kathrine Switzer once did and be still as Buddha.

Ambition in life is beautiful although it does have a Dark Side … All of us harbor the feelings of wanting to be like “somebody“. No outside goal, however noble, can ever make us feel complete in life. I want you to know that today, you are Somebody.

A small “thing” can and will go a long way in your adventurers this weekend. It doesn’t take an ambitious, grandiose goal to create a ripple effect in the stream of Life. Take your socks off and feel free to simply dip your big toe in. Everything is interconnected in life, be brave enough today to take the first small step. This may be ten minutes of yoga this morning or even going for a walk this evening. Immerse yourself in the wonderful effect of simple actions. Ten minutes too long? Maybe we can start by being in stillness, connected to our breath for one minute each and every morning?

Notes:

Today, you are creating a ripple effect in your life, initiating change not only in yourself, but in the stream of life we all swim in. Be well this weekend.
