Hard to say what’s right when all I wanna do is wrong-

Who doesn’t like planning? Planning workouts for the week, running events for the coming month, yoga class flow, playlist for cardio kick boxing class. It should come as no surprise to hear that “planning” is generally a good “thing” to do

This is the point in our lovely post this evening when I tell you that all our grandiose plans are pretty much useless.

How so?” Most of our plans and goals are not structured in a way that makes them effective if life, “things” go sideways for a spell.

If and Will plans, on the other hand, I have found to be extremely effective to staying the course and making them is an extremely empowering tool to helping you achieve your goal(s).

The trick is deciding well in advance when and where you will the take steps to achieving your goal. Quick example: “If I am falling behind on my training, I Will choose to schedule the  time to train.”

When it comes to reaching your goals, because you will reach them – avoiding temptation is critical, focusing on replacing bad habits with good ones, rather than focusing only on the bad habits themselves is vitally important.

Ask yourself the next time things start to go sideways, What will I do to get back on track!?!

CultFit Good Plan

Life is Better

But he who has not first turned away from his wickedness, who is not tranquil and subdued, or who’s mind is not at rest, he can never obtain the Self by knowledge-

You belong here, Right now.

We all want to change in major ways. We want to be as thin as a sibling, a co-worker. As beautiful as the latest celebrities and as creative as the producers who make their inspiring films. We want to blaze trails as Kathrine Switzer once did and be still as Buddha.

Ambition in life is beautiful although it does have a Dark Side … All of us harbor the feelings of wanting to be like “somebody“. No outside goal, however noble, can ever make us feel complete in life. I want you to know that today, you are Somebody.

A small “thing” can and will go a long way in your adventurers this weekend. It doesn’t take an ambitious, grandiose goal to create a ripple effect in the stream of Life. Take your socks off and feel free to simply dip your big toe in. Everything is interconnected in life, be brave enough today to take the first small step. This may be ten minutes of yoga this morning or even going for a walk this evening. Immerse yourself in the wonderful effect of simple actions. Ten minutes too long? Maybe we can start by being in stillness, connected to our breath for one minute each and every morning?

Today, you are creating a ripple effect in your life, initiating change not only in yourself, but in the stream of life we all swim in. Be well this weekend.

Tuesday 10 January 2012

Less than fifteen percent of the people do any original thinking on any subject… The greatest torture in the world for most people is to think-

With New Years resolution  season in full swing now, the vast and overwhelming amount of tips and motivational “pats on the back” can be daunting to anyone trying to get back into the swing of leading a healthy life.

For the blog-o-sphere types, Random Fitness apes and yoga moms telling YOU what to do, CultFit HQ inter-webz  media relation guru Uncle Hayden has this reminder: Most people are visitors to the magical land of fitness, nutrition and healthy living; not full-time residents.

During this full on information blitz in particular, you are often exposed to a lot of information.  Far too often we easily lose sight of what tasty tidbits of information/advice are most important and helpful to us.

This all gets back to you, the visitor here to CultFit HQ.  This is much more of a tool than you may initially think.  Check out some of the links to the side here–>

There here for a reason.  Read the articles we present you with an open mind.  Be mindful that you, you yourself are the best training tool and motivator you could ever need.

The Plan-

Ask yourself these questions today:

What are my goals for the coming days, week, month, year?
What changes do I want to see in my life?
What am I willing to change about myself to achieve my goals?
What will I add to my life? What will I let go of?

The Workout-

Similar to yesterday…

One Hour Swim or Bike followed by:

100-150 Perfect Swings

We honestly hope you get our message today, ENJOY!!!

Friday 6 January 2012

You cannot dream yourself into a character: you must hammer and forge yourself into one-

Which one do you want?

The Plan-

Today’s sign of the Apocalypse:  Reality TV

Grown up chat today, so if you are easily offended scurry away now…As the Random Fitness (hell, let’s through all of society under the bus) world evolves into a seemingly more complex, nuanced, and technology driven society, the more disengaged the average person becomes from what’s going on around them and to themselves.  Do you have any inkling of an idea how utterly lazy we are as a society?  Even though we should be more empowered now than ever before.  How about this?  Don’t know something?  Confused?  Hello, Google Machine here we come (we have heard great things about The Google Machine over the years).  It infuriates us here at CultFit HQ when people reject intellectualism and knowing your business as a defense mechanism, to shield their own ignorance or dullness.  People accept the status quo and abundant hypocrisy because it’s easy, it feels good.  Empower yourself to learn as much as you can about yourself, others and more specifically to what we are talking about today:  Living a healthy life and participating in a goal driven workout program.

The Workout-

It’s been rather nice outside so why not break free from the treadmill and try Mother Nature out for once?

Brisk Walk/Run before dawn (preferably) followed by:

A free flowing (effortless) Sun Salutation series followed by:

Peaceful Meditation as the sun rises and bathes you in gentle warmth for the day

Humans, you are doing it wrong.

A nice simple workout series this week to ring in the New Year.  It’s  a long year remember…ENJOY!!!

Sums up nicely what you did to yourself this week.
