Am (I)

I am the combined effort of everyone I’ve ever known-
Who are you?
A simple question, asked so very often, implying that there is actually a plausible answer. Almost as if our being were a fixed “thing” …
Who am I?
The irony that lies neatly at the heart of this question, is that the more we seek to identify who we are, the more fragile we are likely to become. The emphasis shouldn’t be on discovering who we are but on creating what we would like to experience in life.
Who defines you?
Our identity should be seen as an evolving process, rather than a static snapshot in time. Embrace a flowing sense of self – You.
Daily Meditation:
How different would life be, if rather than asking who am I … We contemplated how we’d like to engage and live – Life?

We know meditation is good for our souls. Or do we …
Each and every day, we have 24 precious hours available to us to meditate, and yet … We consciously choose to divert our attention elsewhere … Oh look! A dove!
A quick show of hands: Did you post something on FaceTube today? Binge watching House of Cards while at work? Stand in queue for ten minutes waiting for a latte? Drive to work and park as close as you could to the entrance? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, as I certainly did, then we did have some time today …
Dear Readers(s), you are not alone. I struggled for the longest time to establish and maintain a consistent meditation practice. Despite its simplicity, meditation practice is actually hard work, paying attention and being mindful and all.
All kidding aside, meditation is an incredibly important skill to develop. Yup, a skill – Like folding clothes and picking out the best bottle of $5 wine, a skill that takes time to develop.
Daily Meditation:
Even one minute spent meditating is more than none. Be sure to double-check my math … Have a brilliant weekend my friends and please take care!

If you’re feeling cocky, it’s because there’s something you don’t know-
After many years of “coaching” and helping other cool and inspiring folks, I am often struck by their relationship with fun. When we first meet, they often talk at great length about training plans, intensity, goals, effort and lastly they mention: “this needs to be fun.”
I have a problem with Fun.
Fun (when used above), conveys a sense of a trivial and purposeless living. Fun … Is hedonistic. My definition of fun does not seem to sit right with many people who are engaged in uber-competitive activities and have a competitive mindset. There is no magical switch you can flip, then manage to stumble into a yoga studio one afternoon to “center” yourself. Fun is a lazy vacation, sipping mojito’s on a white sand beach in Belize, not an early morning wind sprint session and killing the weights before bed.
Should we abandon the idea of “fun” all together? Nope, I just ask that you think about “fun” in a different light, a different Sense …
Daily Meditation:
All aspects of our lives ought to be enjoyable, interesting word(s): Enjoyable, Enjoyment, Enjoy.
My definition of fun? Is “enjoyment.”
Thank You

When it comes to achieve something seriously, they do the every possible thing that comes out of them.
They follow the paths those are hard to believe.
The extents and limits are nothing for them.
Actually they decide and define limits for themselves.
Their fighting desire & characteristics to lead never change.
They were born to prove their genes. They were born to achieve.
With arms of iron and nerves of steel they make changes happen.
Lenovo calls these rare species THE DOERS.
The World call them GREAT, ICONIC, INFLUENTIAL, STRANGE, FREAK.
Daily Meditation:
Thank you from the very depths of my heart to those who have served so valiantly past, present and future.
I implore those of you reading today to take a moment to help a veteran(s) by sharing the gift of kindness and of listening.

The slow march away from what we”perceive” as the most important “thing(s)” in our lives begins with a subtle shift of emotional meaning from the self to the world around us.
Can we be honest, vulnerable, with one another for a fleeting moment? We’ve all done what we are about to talk about. We’ve devalued ourselves and our dreams as “damaged, worthless” as an excuse to justify acting out at someone else in our lives. Have you ever run such a horrid race and spent the next week being an unbearable oaf to be around? Ever fall on your chin for the millionth time trying to find balance in vrschikasana, only to write a scathing blog post condemning hyper flexible individuals later in the evening, whilst rubbing your chin?
Damn it feels good lashing out at others, urinating over another persons kindness, rubbing their noses in our misery. However, this adrenalin rush we bathe ourselves in … Comes at enormous cost: It traps us in a permanent devalued state of being that greatly impairs our ability to create value in life. Let’s read this last sentence one more time together …
How can we possibly do well in our chosen endeavor(s), when we devalue the people close to us, due to our own failings? Doing so ignites a smoldering brush fire within all involved.
Notes:
If you feel that you’re traveling down a long and sad road, let’s name this road; “Pity Party Ave“, spewing your devalued self, your resentful conflict towards those standing around watching you pass by, ask yourself: Who is more likely to respect your feelings, the people you value and cherish or the loving people rubbing sh!t off their noses because of our actions?!?
What a lovely way to start the weekend, take care and please be well!
