Love (Light)

Moderation in all things, especially moderation-

We know meditation is good for our souls. Or do we

Each and every day, we have 24 precious hours available to us to meditate, and yet We consciously choose to divert our attention elsewhere Oh look! A dove!

A quick show of hands: Did you post something on FaceTube today? Binge watching House of Cards while at work? Stand in queue for ten minutes waiting for a latte? Drive to work and park as close as you could to the entrance? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, as I certainly did, then we did have some time today

Dear Readers(s), you are not alone. I struggled for the longest time to establish and maintain a consistent meditation practice. Despite its simplicity, meditation practice is actually hard work, paying attention and being mindful and all.

All kidding aside, meditation is an incredibly important skill to develop. Yup, a skill – Like folding clothes and picking out the best bottle of $5 wine, a skill that takes time to develop.

Daily Meditation:

Even one minute spent meditating is more than none. Be sure to double-check my math Have a brilliant weekend my friends and please take care!

Thank you so much for your kind thoughts and continued support, I’ll step down from my soap box here before the year is out. 😉
Take care and I hope you have a great weekend!

  2. Great reminder…I definitely don’t spend nearly enough time in meditation and deep thought – as I should 🙂

A struggle indeed! Even folding of clothes!! 😉

I’ve tried all sorts… of folding (Kidding! haha)… But quite recently, something manifested and ‘the secret’ to the “how”… it all made sense. We often hear in class – “Let go of thoughts”, “Leave those thoughts outside the door”, blah blah… c’mon! As soon as I let go of thoughts, I pass out! I think we find what works for us in meditating as we try out these skills.
    But…
We can aLWaYS choose our thoughts.
Even in chanting, devotion to whoever… devotion does not always mean the One. Devotion is LoVe. So I choose a thought I love… and yes, the LiGHT comes in. =)

This is so timely, I haven’t meditated in too long of a time and tried to do so just the other day, it was a nightmare! My mind has become so overloaded with ‘everydayness’ that it’s going to take some hard work in earnest, on a daily basis until I get back to where I was. Practice, practice, practice.

My reasoning or lack there of in regards to this post 😉 … Is that meditation, takes practice. Kinda like tying your shoes and riding a bike. You have to roll up your sleeves and put some tangible effort into it. I hope this post helps you get back into the whole “meditation” thing, although, I know it did not stray far – It was within your heart the entire time. Take care and please be well!!!
