People are cynical and honestly: Why wouldn’t they be? All of us are overworked, trampled on, paying more for yoga class and coconut water. Our dreams are slowly fading away and struggling to find meaning.
Dark clouds seemingly consume the conversations we have with friends and family. Is talking about Doom and Gloom useful? It some instances it can be, just not today.
Today we challenge you to find the courage to be optimistic!
The Plan-
The Workout-
Happy Hips, a little Balance Beam work and Skipping Rope (if you “jump rope”? Try again). Followed By:
Roll a Single Die three times: 100,200,400,600,,800,1000
It’s KB Swing Medley time peeps!
Left Hand, Right Hand, Double Hand, Single Bell (HEAVY), Side Step Swings
Hard Style! Roll your precious die carefully … The number it displays is the amount of Swings you will be performing!
Notes:
True personal awaking and change happens thorough conversation, Dear Friends. Open up and comment below about anything in your life, purge these thoughts from you. The more Random the better … ENJOY!!!

If we understood the awesome power of our words, we would prefer silence to almost anything negative. In our thoughts and words we create our own weaknesses and our own strengths. Our limitations and joys begin in our hearts. We can always replace negative with positive.

Today’s Sign of the Apocalypse: Gucci On Wheels
**Warning science content ahead!?!**
Place a ball on the desk in front of you and let it sit there, roll back in your chair and watch for a few moments. Nothing happened, shocking we know!
Now reach in the centre drawer and pull out some sticky notes and a pen. Write one of the following words/thoughts on the top half of each note:
Life, Yoga, Love, Work, Running, Lifting, Diet, Meditation, Pilates, Sex, Donuts … You get the point. Fold them in half and place them randomly on your desk in front of you.
Each one of us has our own unique habits, just like the ball will keep sitting there unless new outside influences act upon it.
Now gently tap the ball towards one of your notes, any which one.
The Plan-
The Workout-
Form, Flow and Grace … Find balance and harmony in a refreshing Sun Salutation Series. Followed by:
A Plank Medley consisting of the following: High Plank, Low Plank, Glute Bridge, One Arm Side Plank (each side), Forearm Plank, Side Plank (elbow bridge).
**All Planks will start with a Hinge Walk Out. This is vitally important peeps, think about it?!? When was the last time you bent over backwards? Hinged backwards? Oh, the last time you raised your hips from the floor into a Plank position. Your precious little back and hips will thank you later … **
Notes:
The goal of our exercise above is to come as close to our note without knocking it over, to gently ease up to it. Kinda like starting a new exercise program … Ease into it, slowly and with conviction. Be well today and ENJOY!!!

… Strange days have found us
Strange days have tracked us down
They’re going to destroy our casual joys …
Quick test this morning while the tea brews: Say this simple word out loud: “Gratitude “.
Was this hard for you? Did we struggle saying just one little word? For many of us, thinking and passing forward appreciative thoughts is completely natural and something we do on a daily basis. This underlying and authentic appreciation for all “things” good in our lives helps us to not only live longer, feel a little better and most importantly: Creating positive connections with the world around us. Gratitude …
Just as you would cultivate other positive habits, gratitude begins at an early age and needs to nurtured throughout our lives. And NO! It’s never too late to start getting aboard the Gratitude Bandwagon. The ass-hats around you will start to like what they see and hear from you each day.
Where does this leave us? Practice, practice gratitude daily. We are ever so grateful you are here with us today! There, that’s a spiffy start!
The Plan-
The Workout-
If there is one thing to be said about CultFit Readers: Attention to detail is lacking or non-existent at times. So on that note we are going to lay out what the goal is this week, no more beating around the bush. Yes, it is possible to learn to do a proper Push Up without beating the living sh!t out of yourself. Do we need to read this last sentence again?!?
Moving on … A nice flowing Trail Run (or whatever else you choose) with a good friend followed by:
Find a nice comfy spot to stop and face one another in a High Plank Perfect Push Up position (mess around with a Hinge Walk Out to get your distance correct). While looking your partner in the eye, touch your right hand to their right hand then switch and go left to left … criss cross applesauce works as well. This is not a contest!!! Continue alternating hands/arms until both of you are too tired to go on.
Remember you have to Run back home?!?
Notes:
Don’t worry peeps, we are grateful you made it this far into the post! Be well today and ENJOY!!!

If there’s one thing about CultFit readers that really stands out: None of us can be considered Normal.
Have you ever been out on a group run (anything else) and suddenly came up limp due to cramps or another issue? Then had one of your friends say, ” Is this normal for you chump?!?“
What may be Normal and unique to you is considerably different from another persons definition of Normal. This is blatantly obvious stuff here peeps yet we forget about it each time we close our eyes at night!
If you hang around or associate yourself with someone who is obsessed with their running times, weight loss, weight being used, shoe size, IQ (all solid examples)? The next time they start lamenting and complaining about not being able to put up Normal numbers … Ask this question and duck for cover:
“Maybe this is your new normal dude?!?“
Put the weapon down Dear Reader and think about what we are presenting to you for one fleeting moment: Our definition of Normal is changing all the time. A marriage here and a couple of kiddos there, suddenly you’re on the lovely side of 37. Last year you had a few surgeries and a few too many beers … You’re not the same person you were when you last defined Normal for yourself.
We spend infinite amounts of energy in the pursuit of getting back to Normal <— This friends: Keeps each and every one of us from moving —> Forward in our lives.
The Plan-
The Workout-
You know that feeling, when you’re lying alone in your warm bed, staring at the ceiling? It’s early morning, the sun is freshly up, beginning to shine on you through the windows. Everything is beautiful yet something is amiss?!?
A hearty Trail Run followed by:
30 Heavy Goblet Squats
100m Sprint
25 Heavy Goblet Squats
100m Sprint
20 Heavy Goblet Squats
100m Sprint
15 Heavy Goblet Squats
100m Sprint 10 Heavy Goblet Squats
100m Sprint
**Feel free to sub in: Swings, Push Press, Perfect Push Ups, Piston Press in lieu of the Goblet Squats.**
Notes:
Normal is a horrible word, be unique, be You! Have a great weekend peeps … ENJOY!!!

Can we all agree on this lovely Wednesday morning that revenge is an extremely powerful motivational tool?!? Chances are that many of you reading today will use revenge to power you through the workday, an argument or a workout later. Maybe it was an insult someone uttered just loud enough for you to hear while walking on your favorite trail or the rejection amongst friend at the pub Saturday night?!? Either way, we do not want to use revenge as a tool to power us through the day.
The trick, and this is a trick in every sense of the word: Is to try to control our revenge -instinct (just totally made this up although we all have one) and put it to work for us instead of against us. “How“ you may be asking? By simply focusing and using our energy in positive way, this is easier said than done. The best example is exercise. Exercise is an excellent way to blow off the initial steam of negative energy you feel. A Walk/Trail Run/Bike Ride/Run/Swim/Hitting the Weights? All of these work.
“It ain’t worth doing it bro! Let’s take this inside and have a good workout!!!“
The Plan-
The Workout-
Intervals. Not tabata … Intervals peeps.
20 Seconds of Work followed by 10 Seconds of Rest.
In no particular order: Hollow Rocks, Crab Walk, Plank Hold (High and Low), Bear Crawl, KB Snatch.
Reminder: This is not a Tabata program, just a simple 20/10 interval program. Capisce!?!
Notes:
The last few posts have been a tad down trodden to say the least. Holding a grudge, Revenge … What could possibly be next? Maybe, just maybe we are writing with a broad brush stroke for a reason … ENJOY!!!
