Hey you! Yeah you, the one walking on the treadmill over there. That’s a nice habit you are starting to form there isn’t it? Or is it? Waking inside is easy, convenient and puts a nice big smile on our faces for the rest of the day. Just not in our neck of the woods!
Last time we checked there were no reported cases of nuclear fallout spreading across the world like Nutella on gluten-free toast. So basically there is no reason not to walk outside, none and your excuses are coming much to freely today. We like to use the terms: Incremental Activity and Perseverance.
As an example: Park farther away from the entrance to work or the store no matter what the weather may be. You guys may remember we don’t like telling you what to do on a daily basis. That’s for other blog-o-sphere types to get off on. Think of this message today as a slap up side the head from Uncle Mo here at CultFit HQ after he caught you drinking milk from the carton with the fridge door wide open.
The perseverance and habits that you foster now although seemingly trivial will help you out the next time a workout gets really challenging!
Your doorway to happiness is…Changing your definition of perseverance. A 180 so to speak?

OK what the hell is going on here? Quick question: How do you stay motivated to stay active and to work towards your goals? 98.7% of you will say: “I work out because it makes me feel good and all sorts of happy inside.”
Hard Work = Bliss

Swim for about an hour followed by:
One of our fave programs at CultFit HQ (notice the slight changes today)…
45-60 Second Handstand Hold (actively press your hands through the floor and stretch those little toes to the sky) followed by:
30 Second Top of Push Up Plank
45-60 Second Handstand Hold
30 Second Top of Push Up Plank
45-60 Second Handstand Hold
30 Second Top of Push Up Plank
45-60 Second Handstand Hold
30 Second Top of Push Up Plank
10 Minutes of Leg Drains (you can thank us later!)
Notes:
Push, push, patience, perseverance and if at any moment you lose mid line stability (hips drop-chin drop etc), STOP! If you really want to mess yourself up for good do planks and hand stands incorrectly, ENJOY!!!

The Plan-
Many of you know that our line of thinking here at the always classy CultFit HQ goes as follows: Body weight movements trump anything else we do in a program, period!
The logic is that if you can’t efficiently move yourself properly during a program you have no purpose adding weight until you can. The same goes for a bunch of other things: Walking before learning how to run as an example. It’s funny as adults seem to forget this as the years wear on and add up. Old Uncle Sachmo here of course was running as an infant before he learned how to crawl…Hmm why do so many old peeps seem to forget this as they train for their 5 hr long marathon? Oh well, we’re older and obviously so much smarter than a little stinky infant.
The Workout-
Pulled from our “Time to start” series at CultFit HQ:
Bike/Walk…Preferably outside and with a fair amount of effort put into it.
5-4-3-2-1 Perfect Pull Ups (ease into them and develop power from your torso-core-trunk-whatever the experts are calling it now)
10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Perfect Push Ups and Perfect One Arm Presses (same as above…)
10 Minutes or so of the following:
Find a pace and rhythm and knock out some Goblet Squats for ten straight minutes (key is finding the right weight to push yourself just a little bit).

So what have we been bloviating about all week for? Over 2000 loaded words never truly getting to the meaning of our message. Sometimes the prolixity of what we do to ourselves is nauseating and we quite never realize what we are doing until, well…we get injured or those last few precious breathes we take.
Simply: Until you are completely and utterly comfortable with who you are. You will never be able to achieve what you want to be.
2000 words or 23…which path do you want to take?

If you have to think about this next question…we’ll be sure to say a quick prayer for you later this evening. Can you remember the exact moment the last time you smiled while working out?
An honest smile, like seeing a newborn kiddo or the first time little dude rides his bike without training wheels? Not LolCat or some lame ass MeMe stuff you dug up in the bathroom this morning.
Entertain this thought today as you go about your daily Random Fitness routine: Exercise as you would play.

We are taking a moment today to step outside ourselves, step back and look at the big picture. At what price would you pay to look your best now only to be crippled and bed ridden later in life? Not saying that is going to happen to you, so step back. It may happen and if it does…What will you do?

Today’s sign of the coming Apocalypse:
We would like to preface the following series of thoughts with this little statement: Inter-webz 101 you’re holding on for dear life. Let’s dig into the minutiae of this “Sore Subject” a little bit this morning.
Push away from the internet! Try this on for size, rather than relying on some external source of motivation from that latest web-site or newest on-line fitness community, look inward to find the help you need in reaching your next goal or accepting a new challenge. The first step is to open a dialog with yourself and make sure you are on the same page. Think we’re insane? Try this exercise right now with your big niño or big chica voice (open up the pipes no matter where you are at! We did this in the bathroom here at CultFit HQ…): Say out loud what your fitness goal(s) may be. “I want to run a marathon next month for the first time”, “I eat like mierdaand, party hard and workout at Curves after work”, “I just saw 143 amazing new Fitness moves on Pintrest. These will help me reach my established goals in life.” You guys get the point we hope?!? To capture your attention and draw an eerie parallel, we introduce to you this morning: PORN LOGIC!!!
Those of you that spend all day reading fitness blogs (us included). The fitness logic you have developed is no different then Old Uncle Jasper’s porn logic. Fast forward to the good bits that get you off and fill your needs. All the bits that bog us down and distract us from what is really important.
The vast majority of these outside motivations that you have introduced to yourself are competing with one another to win you over. Your motivation to exercise, has to compete with your motivation to write a witty Tweet, update your Facebook status, or check in on Foursquare. Which behavior you choose depends in part on which motivation you are most reminded of. Checking Pintrest-Fitness to add 25 new moves into your program or getting your ass out the door to go for a run? The choice is up to you, or just as soon as this dude finishes knocking the bottom out of this chic…

We are purposely trying to find an angle that will pull back the drapery a bit and expose to you what you are doing to yourself every waking moment of the day. Like right now reading this good ole’ blog thingy here…
The Workout-
Bike/Swim/Walk until you work up a nice lather, followed by:
150 Perfect Swings
100 Perfect Push Ups
50 Push Press (each arm)
25 Minutes Total Time on the Inter-Webz today
Hmm, wonder which one will be the hardest?
