Quite often (more times than not) one of our adoring and sometimes misguided fans will write in asking: “What is a Perfect Push Up?” Good question and thanks for asking. Going back and digging through the official Data Archives here at CultFit HQ we found an image that shows the quintessential Perfect Push Up!
For those of you at home who know how to read:
Thank you: http://www.sandowplus.co.uk
And to think fitness and strength training is a new fad? Thanks be to the heavens that X-Fit didn’t invent this stuff.
The Plan-
We know for a fact that 98.3% of our dear readers have the calendar marked with a Sharpie for all the events they are competing (used loosely) in this year. We do as well, sort of. Make sure to remind us and we’ll get the list posted here this week…
The Workout-

At least 250-300 reps of the following:

Work is healthy; you can hardly put more on a man than he can bear. But worry is rust upon the blade. It is not movement that destroys the machinery, but friction-
It’s an end to another long week here at CultFit HQ, or is it? Our Internal Web-Stat Department would like to say “thank you” to all the peeps who emailed complaining about our killing the proverbial motivational vibe this week. Either you can look at this site as a beacon of hope or the last fleeting moments of a toilet swirl, the choice is up to you? But please, we beg of you, do not send us an email asking how to incorporate CrossFit moves like the Dead lift/Kettle Bell Swing/Double Under into your program because you saw it in the new edition of Runners World!?!
Please wish fellow CultFit follower Ryan Hall the best this weekend!
The Plan-
Is the ratio of your gadget/inter-webz face time vs. living a real life off kilter so far this year: Read up!
The Workout-
Pretty much what you have been doing all week:
Bike/Row/Swim for about an hour followed by:
100 Perfect Push Ups
100 Potato Sack Squats
100 Inverted Rows
10 Minutes in an Inversion of your liking (preferably outdoors in the middle of a field)
Hmm, what is this random assortment of movements you may be asking yourself today?
Notes:
A vast majority of our readers have this underlying need to validate themselves by asking tedious little questions like: “How much you lift” and “what was your last ultra-time”. If it makes you feel better 95.4% of the staff here did the one hour ride today in 20 mins. So on that note, There have been over 240-ish posts here by CultFit HQ members. Some of the best ones cover the topic of “Vanity”…Hmmmm. Be safe this weekend and most importantly, ENJOY!!!
If you are interested in joining CulFit HQ and getting some sweet CultFit schwag (no t-shirts) to rock out in at your next 5hr long Marathon/40 min 5k/16:49 Francis, drop us an email at: cultfit@gmail.com
Breaking NEWS!!! The Apocalypse has arrived…and officially Jumped the Shark on the way in:

The Plan-
Beware the story of the “Easy” explanation…Far too often we are hyper obsessed with finding the proper motivation to start a new workout program that we forget the “Easy” part to it: Following through.
Motivation is in the mind; follow-through is in the practice.
The Workout-
Pulled from the “This seems oddly similar” series here at CultFit HQ
Bike/Swim for about an hour (you have been quietly turning up the intensity we hope?) Followed by:
100 One Arm Perfect Presses (each arm always starting the movement with a Hammer Curl-Rack Hold-Press)
Notes:
This is more of a Core-Spine workout than you would initially think…The moment you grab the floor with your toes that energy you now have is transferred to every part of your body. Just as a tree has roots to fuel and nurture its growth; so do you, ENJOY!!!

The Plan-
Today’s sign of the Apocalypse: Reality TV
Grown up chat today, so if you are easily offended scurry away now…As the Random Fitness (hell, let’s through all of society under the bus) world evolves into a seemingly more complex, nuanced, and technology driven society, the more disengaged the average person becomes from what’s going on around them and to themselves. Do you have any inkling of an idea how utterly lazy we are as a society? Even though we should be more empowered now than ever before. How about this? Don’t know something? Confused? Hello, Google Machine here we come (we have heard great things about The Google Machine over the years). It infuriates us here at CultFit HQ when people reject intellectualism and knowing your business as a defense mechanism, to shield their own ignorance or dullness. People accept the status quo and abundant hypocrisy because it’s easy, it feels good. Empower yourself to learn as much as you can about yourself, others and more specifically to what we are talking about today: Living a healthy life and participating in a goal driven workout program.
The Workout-
It’s been rather nice outside so why not break free from the treadmill and try Mother Nature out for once?
Brisk Walk/Run before dawn (preferably) followed by:
A free flowing (effortless) Sun Salutation series followed by:
Peaceful Meditation as the sun rises and bathes you in gentle warmth for the day
Humans, you are doing it wrong.
Notes:
A nice simple workout series this week to ring in the New Year. It’s a long year remember…ENJOY!!!
