A little challenge to start the weekend off right: Limber your lips up, and hum your favorite song for the next 30 seconds … Now don’t you feel better? In fact, there’s no better way to calm your mind and boost your spirits than by humming a happy tune.
Are your lips, heart and spirit ready to go? Cool …
Pausing for a moment to consider how humming plays a role in meditation practice … I’ll share just one quick example: “Some” yoga folks use a breathing technique called brahmari or “the bee breath.” In essence, the brahmari technique involves taking a series of slow, deep breaths through the nose with tightly sealed lips. On each exhalation, you make a humming sound similar to a bee buzzing about in a midlands prairie.
Daily Meditation:
For whatever reason, I deeply enjoy humming the occasional tune. Humming (the brahmari technique) is a gentle, calming method to settle our mind(s) and an a soothing way to relieve stress. Little did I know that a seemingly frivolous, cheeky activity may turn out to have some tangible daily benefits. In addition, who would had ever thought that Hall & Oates would help me center my mind?!?
Take care this weekend and please be well!

May this post serve as a fertile metaphor for rediscovering our basic goodness …
For us to recognize and acknowledge our basic goodness we need to first peel away the layers of “whatever” it is that hides us from our true selves.
The first layer to peel away, which I have picked at many of times, is developing and nurturing a certain sense of self-compassion. Self-compassion (for me) comes from an understanding of what I am actually feeling in any given moment: Anxiety, Fear, Pride, Having a Pity Party … Understanding my motivation(s) is integral to moving from an attitude of sadness to one of happiness.
Daily Meditation:
We create our prison, yet we also hold the key.
Something to ponder this week.
Thank You

When it comes to achieve something seriously, they do the every possible thing that comes out of them.
They follow the paths those are hard to believe.
The extents and limits are nothing for them.
Actually they decide and define limits for themselves.
Their fighting desire & characteristics to lead never change.
They were born to prove their genes. They were born to achieve.
With arms of iron and nerves of steel they make changes happen.
Lenovo calls these rare species THE DOERS.
The World call them GREAT, ICONIC, INFLUENTIAL, STRANGE, FREAK.
Daily Meditation:
Thank you from the very depths of my heart to those who have served so valiantly past, present and future.
I implore those of you reading today to take a moment to help a veteran(s) by sharing the gift of kindness and of listening.

In writing this blog-o-thing, I am doing what many other passionate and authentic people do: Taking the flow of my daily struggles and sharing it openly with you. The conversation we often have, like life; Is chaotic, awkward, tedious and associative.
I don’t know how to convey my feelings at times, words stumble from my fingertips and fall deftly onto the screen. Like life itself, this flow, this blog … YOU … Are intrinsically nourishing.
I can’t look YOU in the eye this morning, to find the courage to say “I am fully there” … This awkward awareness serves as my antidote to urgency and anger.
With your caring, continued support. I know without any shred of doubt, that my contribution here will be forever useful to the extent I can shift from being motivated by the desire to see results in my life: Likes, Follows, How long I can hold a pose, Being the best dad, A better lover, A better friend …
Dependence on results cannot but compromise my True Strength.
Daily Meditation:
Sometimes what’s most painful for me is the conviction I have of just how simple it would be … To love and share enough to satisfy everyone’s basic needs; to create a flow of kindness.
