What do you genuinely FEAR the most?
One of the best teachers we will ever have in life: Failure. Digest this next thought anyway you like, we are all adults here right? Sit back and actually read the blog posts this coming Monday. We are confident in saying that many peeps will be busy saving face, lamenting after a grueling weekend competition or struggling through whatever event they participated in. Many more will miss this prime learning opportunity to reflect on their recent failure and use what they learned to improve themselves next weekend, next time around.
Learning from a recent (<— Key Word) failure is never easy. Our culture is driven on success and this makes it especially hard to embrace failure. When we do this? We miss an opportunity for personal growth.
Don’t FEAR to FAIL. Of all the training tools we have at our disposal, FEAR is by far the best one. How else are we supposed to learn about “Life“?
… If being me is easy from where you stand
Seeing is believing from where I am
Try being me if you think you can
You think you got it easy, try being me …
The Plan-
It’s a wonderful time to head outside this weekend. Orionid Meteor Shower
Hat Tip: Earth Sky
The Workout-
A flowing Trail Run with a good friend once again (don’t forget to bring a ball …). Followed by:
Rolling Perfect Push Ups …
Hinge and Walkout to a High Push Up Position while your partner is standing behind you holding a tennis ball. Your partner will roll the ball under you while in the High Push Up Position. You, catch the ball and either toss the ball back to your partner over your shoulder. Or, rotate to a side Plank and hand them the ball. To make this more difficult: Start in a Low Plank – Just enough room for the ball to roll under you. Alternate hands and be sure to switch up with your friend. Kids, Spouses, Dogs … All work here so no excuses?!?
Notes:
Many of you reading today are Fearful of this coming weekend for many different reasons, completely natural peeps! Life presents us challenges at every turn, just not this weekend. Be well and ENJOY!!!
You trained your dog to roll the ball under you? Impressive! 😉
Nope, but he will go get it when I toss it to him!
Be well this weekend and take care.
Fear = False Evidence Appearing Real
You can’t fail when you try something just doing it means you have succeeded. In my mind anyway 🙂
In my mind as well … 🙂
I love this. I am working on my next post right now….walking the tight rope of perfectionism. I HATE to fail and that holds me back. Lots. By the way…I didn’t realize 2 minutes was such a long time:)
Sometimes you just have to let go and see where life takes you, maybe it’s a less than perfect blog post or signing up for a big race … Follow your heart. 🙂
2 minutes really is a long time, here’s the “trick” of the test you took: 2 minutes in a High Plank is a long time as well until you start playing a game and distracting yourself. 😉
I hope you and your family have a great weekend!
Damn it…I hate it when you are right! You have a blessed weekend too!
I love the ‘do nothing for 2 minutes’ site. Awesome! 🙂
It may be the hardest “thing” we do all day!
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Hey no problem! Thank you for stopping over here to say thanks. 🙂
I think there is always some level of failure with everything we do. You are so right about not being fearful, it can stifle your life. I always try to think “What is the worse that can happen?” If I am not going to die, then I continue on and worry about the rest later. 🙂 Hope you are having a great weekend.
I completely agree with you, if your life is not on the line? Go for it! Being in the military and working with the military for the last 15 years has a lot to do with my mindset: Evaluating risk etc.
Our weekend is going really well and thank you for asking! If you get the chance early tomorrow morning head outside and find Orion the Hunter in the night sky … You will not be disappointed! Especially where you are at!!!
