Have you used one of them to say thank you-
As the week comes to a close, my wish is that every passionate soul reading on this brilliant morning will be able to take some time to reflect and look ahead with enthusiasm to this coming weekend, despite whatever challenges we may anticipate encountering.
As one week ends and another begins, we have been afforded the opportunity to make choices, our own personal choices, and it’s my sincere hope that each one of you is committed to practicing mindfulness, tiny little “baby steps” that will enable us to live with kindness, with purpose, beautifully, and in so doing, living more fully.
Notes:
Introduce yourself to something new this weekend, a brisk walk, meditation, a few new friend(s), your spouse/lover … Be inspired this weekend and please take care!

Best of luck to those of you participating in these awesome events this weekend!
Omaha Corporate Cycling Challenge
Are there times during the day when you wish you could tap into your creative side? What does creativity mean anyway(s)? Is creativity “something” through which you express yourself during yoga class or while enjoying an evening ride, or is creativity “something” that keeps you feeling connected to the earth and those around you?
During a few periods downtime today and throughout the weekend, brushing and flossing your pearly whites or taking a walk in the local market, explore the opportunity to tap into many of the great ideas we have that often get overlooked during the rush of the day. Consider brushing your teeth with your opposite hand … There is “something” happening in these special moments too, which are equally significant in our lives, if we pause and listen.
Notes:
The creativity many of us search endlessly for, is already there … Maybe we need to learn how to sit back, feet up, relaxed – chill and allow “things” to happen?
Have a brilliant weekend and please be well!

Without them, humanity cannot survive-
Developing and using our new-found self-compassion does not mean we have to stop working hard and aiming for success, daily. Rather, self-compassion is a change in attitude and can be directly linked with greater well-being as well as outperforming even your wildest dreams. Nor does self-compassion imply self-indulgence. Quick example, an “athlete” who cares about their health and performance will insist on eating properly and putting in the required amount of training, no matter how unpleasant these experiences are for them. Similarly, taking it easy and being kind to ourselves may be appropriate in some (all) situations, although in times of over-indulgence, over-training and utter laziness? Self-compassion involves toughening up and taking responsibility for our actions.
Notes:
By heading-off and preventing the defeating effects of self-criticism, self-compassion allows us to maintain peace of mind, control, allowing us to retain our energy for some cool/fun “things” in life – Energy to put to good use during a 150 mile-ish “Gravel Grinder” event …

Where self-criticism leaves us powerless and distraught, self-compassion and following our true passion in life is at the root of empowerment, learning, and inner strength.
It’s safe to say that common knowledge favors passion, right?!? “Follow your passion” random bloggers urge. “Give all your heart” reads another witty blog post title. Can we all agree that passion is pretty cool and a useful endeavor? Sprinkled kindly and with care, passion on top of passion, and everything else in life that follows will be pure bliss. So why not marinate yourself with passion and savor this “sauce of life?“
Ladies? Dudes? Come a little closer so know one will hear what you are about to admit … How many movies starring Hugh Grant have you watched with plots that center on this very question: Will J-LO (some woman) run away and madly fall in love with Hugh, choosing the frenzied, passionate hunk for a life filled with unpredictability and passion, or will she choose the man whose love is firm and deep, a man who is predictable and well … steady, loving?
Notes:
Passion can be tricky, really tricky and nasty at times. Passion is pure joy, when carried away by romance, or in the flow of yoga class, out on the trail, passion makes us feel vibrantly alive. Like the essence of a perfumed wind, delicious, delightful, not to be missed…and fleeting like an ephemeral flower in spring.
Be well and take care this weekend!

And understanding someone else-
We’re taught early in life that deep, passionate joy – love, can be found if we follow our most intense desires. It turns out though that these desire(s) are frequently pushing us into a personal hell. A hell riddled with loss, injury and suffering at every turn.
Since I started to explore my path towards developing a real – tangible joy, a healthy love of life. I learned that taking the time to explore failure and learning how to understand the subtle differences between success and failure is paramount. How many of us have started new fitness routines, taken up yoga or running with a sense of new hope, finding a new love … Only to find that they lead us right back to the pains we’ve experienced time and time before?
Many of us has taken center stage and acted out our personal “myth of lost love found.” The attributes of our failures, success and desires are unique to each one of us, these attributes are deep, personal and must be explored and understood if we wish not to repeat them … Farther down our amazing path(s) in life
Notes:
If you walk away after reading patiently this morning, carrying one single thought throughout the rest of the afternoon , it would be this: Follow your heart exclusively. I believe this to be the kindest path to love.
