To be young again, unwavering in our ability to conquer any feat set before us … Some mood music is in order as we dig a bit deeper beneath the surface of life:
Somewhere between the ages of 30 and 60 (ages may vary if you live in Kentucky or Australia) we spend way too much time trying to create and define what our purpose in life is. Contrary to popular opinion (you would not know this from reading all these perfect blogs): We human(s) are far from being perfect. What if we shared with you a top tip that no matter where you are in life, You’ll be healthier and more fulfilled? Engaging in meaningful and purposeful “play” of any sort helps promote positive mental health in our later years. Don’t take our word for it, get up and go find out yourself!
The Plan-
The Workout-
Pulled from our “Hey! I’m a kid in training.“ Series here at CultFit:
Warm Up on the Monkey Bars and re-acquaint yourself with a long-lost friend followed by:
20 Perfect Push Ups
20m Sprint (Out and Back)
25 Perfect Push Ups
30m Sprint (Out and Back)
30 Perfect Push Ups
40m Sprint (Out and Back)
35 Perfect Push Ups
50m Sprint (Out and Back)
A pattern should be emerging here folks. A local park, track or soccer/football pitch will do the trick today. Remember to bring the little ones along to count resp and to chase during the sprints! Who amongst us makes it to 100+ meters?!?
Notes:
Simple, and try not to out think yourselves peeps. There are grade school aged kids out there waiting to pounce on some fresh meat at the local playground … ENJOY!!!
“…all these perfect blogs.” I hear ya. So annoying!
I’ll drink to that!!!
Like the pics esp. of the raccoon carrying the cat! Amazing the kind of stuff you come up with…my day is a bit on the up now.
I do like to blow bubbles. The child in me.
That picture cracks me up, glad you liked it. 🙂
I think having fun is a worthy life purpose. What good is anything else if you’re miserable and unhappy all the time? All this striving, trying, and goal-reaching I read about everyday is wearing me out. I think we all need at least one day a week to run around and act a fool. Sprints are more fun with water guns. Let’s hope I don’t get arrested.
That’s a great idea! I’ll be stopping at the dollar store on the way home to pick a few up. I’m all in on making Friday’s from here on out: National act like a fool day?!? Should make the news on Saturday a lot more fun. 😉
That neon sign would have been a lot cooler had it said “No Exit” to pay homage to Jean Paul Sartre.
No kidding! Keen eye you have. 🙂 I can’t remember the last time I went to enjoy a good play and NO EXIT would be a brilliant one to see.
love the Duke Ellington, off to do some push-ups!
Right behind you, have fun!!!
This is a great blog. Your photos are unbelievable, unique, humorous. Posts are thought provoking. I’m afraid the workout plan outlined in this one would kill me (and I’m not out of shape!) You must be kidding–I suspect you are.
Sometimes half way through some of these programs I wish you were right.
Nearly all of the workouts are done during our weekly/monthly “meet ups in a local park”. Totally random and fun! Just a bunch of friends having fun … Drinking a few beers after.
You must be ripped! (Not on the beer.)
Meaningful and purposeful are some strong words. I am constantly trying to do meaningful things. I feel more productive that way. 🙂
Same here. Even if its just having a cup of tea and some toast. 😉
great track! more fun, less agonising over the meaning of everything! 🙂
The old Mr. Duke, brilliant musician. I barely understand myself little lone trying to find the meaning of other things. 😉
