It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err-
I’ve been thinking a lot recently about what is really blocking the joy we experience while exploring a “healthier” path, our creativity throughout the day, and our peace of mind at night?
Quite surprisingly I may have stumbled on an interesting idea to discuss with you: Peace, quite, bliss, comfort, awareness, stillness … Solitude.
We live in a world that worships fierce independence, yet we deeply fear being alienated and not instantly responding to others: We are over-clocked and over-connected. We are terminally out of touch with our bodies and spirit. Our need for genuine and constructive solitude is utterly lost, looking under the cushions of the couch, we are lost as well.
Today, more than any other time in the year, we need to embrace and seek solitude. Being alone with our thoughts gives us precious insight on how and where to adjust our lives. Solitude brings forth our desire and passion to explore, our curiosity about nature and this beautiful world, our purpose, our individuality.
Notes:
The sudden, deep thoughts, the explosion of our imaginations, our burgeoning passion evolves in solitude. Enjoy the few extra minutes we have been afforded today, be well and please take care!
And For No Reason

And
For no reason
I start skipping like a child.
And
For no reason
I turn into a leaf
That is carried so high
I kiss the Sun’s mouth
And dissolve.
And
For no reason
A thousand birds
Choose my head for a conference table,
Start passing their
Cups of wine
And their wild songbooks all around.
And
For every reason in existence
I begin to eternally,
To eternally laugh and love!
When I turn into a leaf
And start dancing,
I run to kiss our beautiful Friend
And I dissolve in the Truth
That I Am.

Faithful Lover
Posted: June 6, 2013 Filed under: Random Workout | Tags: family, friends, happiness, health, kindness, love, meditation, musings, nature, passion, Poetry, writting, yoga 1 CommentThe moon came to me last night
With a sweet question.
She said,
“The sun has been my faithful lover
For millions of years.
Whenever I offer my body to him
Brilliant light pours from his heart.
Thousands then notice my happiness
And delight in pointing
Toward my beauty.
Is it true that our destiny
Is to turn into Light
Itself?”
And I replied,
Dear moon,
Now that your love is maturing,
We need to sit together
Close like this more often
So I might instruct you
How to become
Who you
Are!
Next Lifetime

Surrounding us is an odd “thing“, one that we rarely take time to notice and more often than not, have come to take for granted: This little thing called “Life.” Many of us search the entire span of our existence for peace, zen, bliss, the perfect pose, best 5k time, serenity and yet? These same things can be found in places that we overlook each and everyday. Even in a quiet summer field, life continues to flourish and live, eat and exist in a natural way, adapting and overcoming the world we merely “exist” in …
… A small doe emerges from the cracks of a wheat field and wanders up to the man-made nature trail, alongside the many busy feet and tires that tread next to her, encroaching on her survival. Interesting, this stunning animal, living, overcoming and flourishing despite our encroachment upon her natural environment; oblivious to our presence, just as we are to our own presence.
What if we paused for a second to take notice of this natural beauty? Is this an annoyance to you, throwing your pace off, adding seconds to your precious run time? One can only wonder…
Notes:
Have we lost focus on the true purpose, the true use of our senses? How can we become self-aware when all we do is tune out our own beating heart and the beautiful world we live in?
What we call
Posted: May 30, 2013 Filed under: Random Workout | Tags: Anaïs Nin, blogging, family, free range, friends, gluten free, health, hipster, hope, kindness, life, Literature, love, lululemon, meditation, motivation, musings, nature, Poetry, whole foods, WOD, writing, yoga 3 Comments… Our destiny is truly our character and that character can be altered. The knowledge that we are responsible for our actions and attitudes does not need to be discouraging, because it also means that we are free to change this destiny. One is not in bondage to the past, which has shaped our feelings, to race, inheritance, background. All this can be altered if we have the courage to examine how it formed us. We can alter the chemistry provided we have the courage to dissect the elements.
