Clover

These are fragrant acres where
Evening comes long hours late
And the still unmoving air
Cools the fevered hands of Fate.

Meadows where the afternoon
Hangs suspended in a flower
And the moments of our doom
Drift upon a weightless hour.

And we who thought that surely night
Would bring us triumph or defeat
Only find the stars are white
Clover at our naked feet.

  1. Beautiful in its simplicity….

Ah. Clover. Clover conjures up images of bees. Bunnies. Butterflies.
Our neighbor (a few houses down) had toe huge patches of grass die last year. This year he planted it back with white clover. It is thick, verdant, lush, and without those white sirens of the bees–welcoming and beautiful. I was tempted to lay in its blanket of three leaved petals today as we walked by. :-). In a few days, I will probably avoid that house all together–that lush field approaches the sidewalk on both sides. :-). Bees! πŸ˜‰

You don’t enjoy the company of bees?! πŸ˜‰ Count me in as one of their biggest fans! I hope you and your hubby are doing really well this Summer, let’s plan on meeting up soon … Until then, please take care and be sure to stay alert for that tell-tale buzzing sound. πŸ™‚

I am very allergic to bees. :-). More so wasps. We are happily paddling and playing in the north woods this week. So glad to have nights in the 40s and 50s!!!
Yes, we need to get together. πŸ™‚

Perfect weather to cuddle and play! Be sure to remind me about some of the bee and wasp stories I have accumulated over the years … They say men never learn from past mistakes?!? I very well may be the subject matter expert πŸ˜‰
All kidding aside, bee/wasp allergies are nothing to play around with – Do take care!

Looking forward to stories! :-). I get a steroid shot in my bum and orally and high doses of Benadryl, and still suffer! It could be far worse, so it’s all good!

  4. Just came back for a reread. Love this one.
