The idea of “surrender” is not one we cling to when it comes to engaging in activitie(s) of our choosing. Rather, the words we use are more akin to fighting a valiant battle, winning at all costs. And you know what? There is nothing wrong with thinking this way … Unless thinking this way makes you feel worse that you already do.
May this post serve as an invitation to gently set aside the fear and fight in our lives. In order to truly live.
…
My idea of surrender, is that surrender gives my mind a chance to let the world seep into my very consciousness. Learning “how to surrender” is not about becoming passive, a “chump” or indifferent. Surrender revolves around accepting our current state of mind, body and spirit. With this acceptance serving as my starting point? I am learning to take the best care I can of my body and my mind.
Daily Meditation:
Consider a moment in your life when “surrendering” led to positive consequences that you were not expecting …
Be well today!
Resistance only strengthens the thing being resisted. Taiji is the path of least resistance.
Love this post!
Thank you for your kind thoughts and support, take care and be well today!
This was a good one for me today as I battle my body once again. I’m afraid I have an avulsion (?) fracture in my fifth metatarsal (at least, that is what my online self-diagnosis might suggest). 😦 Surrender. booo.
Hmmm a pseudo- Jones fracture … One question(s) Sandra: Does it hurt when you climb steps? Without having your foot in my hand ( you know I have a thing for feet) the most I can recommend is to R.I.C.E – Goolge search “cuboid bone adjustment” – Pour a cup of tea and start massaging, tenderly and most importantly if the pain does not subside … Surrender and please go see a professional. 🙂
Rest up my friend and please take care!
Will do. . . It does. And it hurts when I turn to my left while there’s pressure on my left foot. I felt a pop when I did it a few days ago and I’ve got an area of swelling ever since.
I’m willing to try anything and I will give the cuboid bone adjustment a go. Here’s hoping! If there is no change, I’ll go see someone on Monday. In the meantime, more downtime in training. THANK YOU!
Like my hubby said, this is my own self-imposed deadline. It can be changed. Either way, we’re going to enjoy San Antonio!
Big night for Lincoln. Squeaked out a win and Elton John is downtown tonight. Sounds like a stay at home and have popcorn night 🙂
I have been at a yoga philosophy workshop all day downtown and I apologize for not getting back to you sooner … The cupoid bone is the perfect landmark on our feet to start massaging and rubbing, when your hubby gets lost and starts rubbing your big toe? Find your cupoid again and work from there! Always start at the cupoid … Little dude and I are hanging out listening to some music and you know what? Popcorn sounds like a terrific idea!
🙂 Thank you so much.
And yes, Mmmm, popcorn supper!
