When was the last time you took time away from your life? Do you find yourself so tired of managing “stress” that you find yourself wanting to hit the proverbial reset button? Do certain relationships sometimes cause you such distress that you fantasize about running away from them and never coming back?
Unfortunately, no matter where we run off to … Awaiting there, with wide open arms: Stress.
The Workout-
Crocodile Breathing + Dead Man Roll(s) = 30 Perfect Turkish Get Ups (Each arm)
Notes:
We’ll leave you with a quick thought before the weekend starts: Our resiliency develops when we’re exposed to stress (moving heavy stuff in the gym, running into the wind and reading some work by Nero and Senaca) … Each and every day and then taking the time to REST.
We’ll leave you with THIS
Recently started meditating…again. The wife and I enjoy the parks as often as possible. De-stressing is something you actually have to stop and think about sometimes. We try to make it a regular event.
30 more perfect TGU’s…oh thank you!
Doug
I don’t think you will have much of a problem with the TGU’s, follow your breath and start knocking them out. 😉 Parks are our reprieve as well as a family, little dude can run about and it allows the two of us to reconnect after a busy week. I wrote a bit ago about stressing over stress, we all do it. The trick is finding the sweet spot, the right amount of resistance that keeps us moving forward. Take care and be well this weekend!
Need to learn to committing to destress and actually make sure I’m doing it correctly! Thanks for this!
Most of what I talk about today comes from my personal reaction to stress. There have been numerous bloviated and nauseating books written about stress, yet, stress is a very personal matter that only you will be able to find the solution to. Yeah there may be some good “tips” and “tricks” floating about although once you can start quieting your mind, listening to your heart more intimately? This is when you start to let go … Be well this weekend and thank you so much for reading today. 🙂
i love today’s message, taking time out is so important to manage stress. I also think that stress can be miss-interpenetrated as a really bad thing, when actually, our body’s, minds and spirit can use stress to grow and become stronger (sorry, the fluff just keeps on coming!). Have a great weekend, take care and be well! 🙂
Let’s try to work hormesis into a few conversations this weekend?!? Take it easy and have a great one. 🙂
Running away from stress is what I do, and by running, I mean literally hitting the pavement 🙂
Maybe this time head into the wind 😉
Perfectly put. Great post amigo.
Thanks mate and I hope you are having a great weekend!
Can I book myself into that cabin above please?
Well written post. I need to come here more often.
How many nights would you like to book? We do have a guest “Happy Hour” reception each night starting at 4 pm lasting until noon … The next day. 😉
You are more than welcome here anytime you like, take care today!
