Ahhhh, the seasons are a changing and fall is a lovely time of year. A time for some of us to let our thoughts roam more freely towards pumpkin spiced lattes, cuddling up on the couch and brisk early morning runs.
One of the brilliant wonders that comes with the changing of seasons is that it presents us the opportunity to take notice of the changes around us. The brilliant red glow of the maple trees. The cooler air that greets us in the morning.
Sadly, when it comes to Summer transitioning into Fall … Rarely do we allow ourselves time to fully experience the splendid changes around us. Too many of us are complaining about how short Summer was or we start to shiver at the thought of another cold winter ahead. These attitudes we embrace, these actions we hold near to our hearts.
If you woke up on July 3rd complaining that is was too hot to run in the morning and now find yourself complaining that it is too cold this weekend to run? Insulate yourself from these thoughts today … Reflect a rejection on our part of being in the present moment.
*Running is but one example!
The Plan-
The Workout-
Something “magical” is going to happen to you today if you pay keen attention to these next two videos:
Our fave Warm Up …
Followed By …
**Maria is one of the best trainers around, PERIOD! We highly recommend you take the time to look over her other videos and give them a go. Plus, she’s Canadian and that instantly puts you at the top of our Christmas card list. **
We often get asked why we do not post more videos describing our Workouts and Movements? Most, not all of you reading today. Have the attention span of a newt … This is not necessarily a bad thing although when it comes to patterning and perfecting movements it can be disastrous to say the least. So, if you ever need a better clarification of what we do here please feel free to email us at: CultFit
Classic example of this problem. We performed some lunges earlier in the week and a sassy CultFit peep sends us this:
Notes:
Having just called some of you a newt we would like to say Thank You once again to all of our readers. We honestly wish we had more time in the day to spend reading your lovely blogs and leaving some witty comments here and there. Have a lovely weekend peeps … ENJOY!!!
Fall to a runner is like a second chance, a second chance at all the awesome running you KNEW was inside you but the body repressed in the horrid summer heat. I love fall! And I love pumpkin spice lattes. 🙂
I’m with you in regards to our love of the cool fall temps and spiced lattes.
Part of the greater point I skimmed right over is that in the Spring we see the flowers budding and the world coming to life around us … In the Fall and Winter months the world around us takes a break, a deep breath. This is a time for us to come to life to rekindle our passion of what we enjoy the most.
Be well and have a great weekend!!!
I worship cold weather running. Bring it ON!
Same here! No trail running in the snow this year although I will be breaking out the X-Country ski’s!!!
Sweet!
Cute dog. I miss having a planetarium in Toronto.
When did the planetarium close down? Our summer vacations as a child always brought us to the science museum and planetarium in Toronto. That really stinks!
I hope you have a great weekend, take care!!!
It closed in 1995 and has been used as storage since. The lease is up in 2014, don’t know what will happen to it then. I would love to go there and watch a show on stars and planets.
Thanks for the follow! You are my 200th wordpress follower, I feel like you should win a prize or something 🙂
Thank you! Just the thought is more than enough. 😉 Its authentic, real blogs such as yours that really brighten me day!
Holy happy hips. Off to make everyone at the office give me weird looks!
I’ll fully admit that these two videos are not the most masculine thing for a dude to do. 😉
Maria is a brilliant trainer and coach to some serious athletes. I ran into her years back and she has this keen ability to take complex movement patterns and describe them in a useful way. Her video here is one example.
I hope you have a great weekend!!!
Maybe the only time it is appropriate to fully unleash your mind is when you are writing. I’m going to try it to see if it works.
Your comment is really appropriate and timely. I am very humbled by the support I have been given since I started writing early last year. I try to be as authentic and clear as I can be when writing, some days it works others not so much. As always I appreciate your feedback and continued support! Be well this weekend and take care.
Very true, over thinking causes so much anxiety.
I too am looking forward to fall spiced hot drinks!
BTW, thanks for liking and following Girl And Her Pink Backpack, it means a lot.
That’s magic…magic…..magic.
That’s right! Magic … 😉
Appreciate your appreciation as you passed by. Like ur humour…
No problem mate! I wish you the best and be inspired.
thanks for peeking in on my blog. enjoying looking around yours including the “No Lunging” picture. We have a sign downtown that always makes me smile, it is a “ducks crossing” sign and we stop for ducks crossing here! They are slow, and dawdle! One time I watched two lines of traffic while 8 ducks or so crossed single file, it was like a comedy show! made me smile at the whimsy of ducks but was glad to see that everyone was patient.
Thank you for stopping over and hanging out for bit, you’ll never know what you may run into during your time here!
Take care today and be well.
Cool site here — thanks for stopping by and laughing with me at vision5d2012. I love summer into fall — one of my favorite times of year. Here on the coast of the Pacific Northwest, that’s about the only time the wind stops blowing 35 50 mph. It gets really nice then. Keep lunging — just watch where you do that kind of thing! Peace, Alia
Thank you so much for stopping over. Its a dream of mine someday to get out to your neck of the woods, one of these days. 🙂 Be inspired today and I wish you the very best!
Oregon is indeed beautiful and worth the trip to the “back of beyond.” Take care, alia
