A cucumber should be well sliced and dressed with pepper and vinegar, and then thrown out, as good for nothing-
A little mood music this morning (Click play and read the rest of the post, maybe):
Daily Top Stat: Only .2% of ‘Merican households care about the Olympics. August 8th can not arrive soon enough for the rest of our country: Honey Boo Boo
The summer games are right around the corner! The CONDOMS have finally arrived and the ANTI AIRCRAFT BATTERIES are firmly in place. Without wasting anymore of your time, here are our Athletes to Watch:
Holley Mangold- The ONLY woman to watch at the Games, PERIOD! Authentic, real and an inspiration to us here.
Alise Post- Your butt is sore if you stub a toe during a two-mile run! Image all the blog posts you would write if you had the following: A torn ACL, LCL and hamstring. Just for good measure lets toss in a hairline fracture in her femur and a detached meniscus … last July during a training ride! Keep an eye on “The Beast“!
Jordan Burroughs- All we see is gold as well!!! He may hail from Slakerville, NJ although he reared his dark side while in Good ‘Ole Nebraska.
Sir Chris Hoy- Ladies, he’s a Sir. That’s all you need to know.
Lolo Jones- Every Father reading today wants his Son to marry a woman like Lolo. She’s humble and not perfect, human. Plus she would whoop the hell out of your kid in a moments notice … Running of course!
Ryan Lochte- Michael Phelps is a douche. Albeit a douche with some hardware. Mr. Lochte is going to whoop his ass!
A quick stretch …
A nice Swim, Yoga and Meditation.
Any thoughts on our list of the Summer Games Best Athletes? Feel free to chime in with who you think we left out of the mix … ENJOY!!!
I remember the BBC did a documentary on Chris Hoy here in the UK a couple of years ago. His leg workout session was insane!
The man is a genetic beast. I was really happy when he was announced to carry the flag for the UK in the opening ceremonies, pretty cool.
I’m so excited for the Games to start – watching amazing athletes at the top of their game. Great post!
Same here! The folks I pointed out, I’m really cheering for. You may want to get online and check out the BBC coverage of the games this year. As you know NBC will be picking amongst the faves in ‘Merica: Swimming, Track, B-Ball Blah, Blah Blah. This year the BBC is going all out to bring us all of the events in near real time … Olympic coverage overload!!!
I will do that for sure.
This will be the first year that I’m interested in watching cycling and marathon. I went to see some criterium races at the end of last month and now, just thinking about them starts to get me revved-up.
Also – since I cross-train with boxing/kickboxing – the fact that women’s boxing is going to be an Olympic sport for the first time this year has me wildly excited. Okay, maybe more like duck-and-cover excited, but still – AWESOME! It’s always nice to see a sport you participate in & can feel in your bones recognized like that.
I don’t normally get geeked up about stuff but the MTB and BMX racing this Summer is going to be intense.
Lol, love reading your articles, they always brighten up my days. Can’t wait for the Olympics. London is currently very hot and sunny and READY! 🙂
Thank you! Summer time in England is so lovely, I can only imagine what it must be like being there right now. Take care and be well!!!
Definitely a Ryan Lochte fan. I don’t know Chris Hoy, but now I’ll have to tune in! We are stoked for the Olympics at our house.
I grew up with Ryan, swimming for Daytona Speed (except it wasn’t called that back then, lol) – and I am just so excited for him! He can and will whoop arrogant ole Phelps, and I cannot effing wait to watch the slaughter!
In my haste to cut and piece this post together I left out who I think is really the man to watch:
Alex Meyer- http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8191821/usa-olympic-long-distance-swimmer-alex-meyer-one-watch-london
10k Marathon Swim, chances are he is going to swim the 10k faster than most peeps run a 10k!
There will be a lot of good stories from London, Alex will be one of them!!!
Yeah, he’s an exciting one to watch as well!!
2012 will be an awesome Games, full of excitement.
Last week at running practice we were all joking around about how the next few months on the local/regional running age group level it’s going to be packed out. No doubt The Games will inspire lots of people back into the gym and into racing!
Proud to be in the .2% and cannot wait for the Olympics to start!
Heading outside to do my workout tonight, if the t-storms don’t prevent it.
Love watching the Olympics. 🙂
