I grew up in the FL coast – the one with the waves, really. And on the beach I worked (ocean rescue baby what!) we averaged MORE shark bites than Aus + South Africa + Hawaii + cali, combined.
How is that possible you ask? Little bull sharks are hungry. They bump and bite, then swim away. Leaving vics to get stitches or what have you. In the rest of the world, when they bite – you die!
I have a healthy respect for the ocean, it’s a must. But am I afraid of sharks? No, of course not. But when you go swimming in salt water… just remember, you’re in their house.
Anyways.
