Do you recall drawing growing up? A pair of stick figures going for a pleasant bike ride, some puffy clouds and a brilliant sun overhead. Curved lines of a peaceful tree that punctuate the landscape, elevating from the ground, spreading into the unknown. Our childhood drawings were pure, innocent and beautiful. There is something truly magical about drawing and trees – They are, in fact, symbols of our soul.
…
Trees at times, can be dark and ominous. They cast a long suffocating shadow when we stray close enough. During the winter months, their barren, bleak blackness marks them against gray skies and freshly fallen snow. Tress are survivors of winter, and we would be wise to learn from them.
Daily Meditation:
Trees are, after all, capable of heavenly feats, perhaps trees are more in tune with their true spirit than we are?
Excellent
I’m glad you enjoyed this – The posts of late have been more of a stream of thought, rather than coherent, easily read and digestible 😉
I love trees. I used to crawl out my bedroom window and sleep in a tree in our backyard. I will stop for trees, having favorite trees on certain streets, so I’ll always choose that route.
My apologies for the segmented post – I was going somewhere with “drawing” then I feel in love again with trees … Not that we had a breakup of sorts this winter 🙂
I always really good at hide and seek in the trees, I was so little I could climb nearly all the way to the top and they would never find me!
Ah! The fine art and skill required to climb trees 🙂 Have you ever fallen asleep in the canopy of a tree? Listening to the soothing leaves playing in the wind? I’m really aching for Spring and Summer as you can tell. be inspired this morning and please take care.
I have come pretty close to falling asleep, sometimes I didn’t even notice that they were below me, hehe
The silence emanated from their barren, bleak blackness is their beauty during our harsher months. It only heightens their true spirit. =)
Sounds like the perfect time to shop for a hammock 😉
