Glass Palace

I don’t want to be alone, I want to be left alone-

Why do we feel pressured into always feeling like we are “doing” something, rather than simply “being“?!?

Being” involves accepting this beautiful moment for what it truly is. Why? This moment, and the next one Will be here no matter how much we try to control them. When we begin to chill – relax, and let go of the struggle to form our reality (and others) into our preconceived ideas of what it should be. We gently begin to let go of regrets about past events and fear of what may happen in the future. We learn to extend love, compassion, and kindness to ourselves, and everything around us. Rather than categorizing  reality into Facebook Status Updates – “likes” and “follows.”

This moment, right now, sore back and cold coffee in hand – Is just a moment a time, we don’t have to be stuck here forever now do we?

Daily Meditation:

Speaking of Being and Doing: Artsy Wheels <- amazing story!!!

Being” lies at the very heart of  my mindfulness practice. Oddly enough, “being” has required more practice and training in order to overcome my natural habits and biases Be well this weekend, and please take care!

A nice and quite thoughtful an expression.

It’s quite a process to learn to “just be” in each moment. I have always had the mistaken perception that pain and discomfort were “bad”. It’s so freeing to simply recognize each moment as a simple experience. No judgments.

Just the other day I experienced these same feelings. An old injury decided to pay me a visit while I was riding to work, in the past, I would had placed and thrown blame everywhere and primarily upon myself. I’m getting better recognizing these moments in my life, slowly but surely. 🙂 I hope you are enjoying your weekend – Take care!

Love this. This is something I’ve been thinking about more and more recently but you’ve expressed it so perfectly. Thanks for the inspiration once again. Hope you’re having a good weekend of just being. 🙂

I would genuinely love to hear your thoughts in regards to being and doing! There is so much to explore, define, uncover and experiment with – speaking of which – long story short: Try to make a mental note of the “things” you “do” over the course of a day … Gotta do this and that sort of things. 😉 Then over the course of a fortnight or so, gently switch from doing to being. See what sticks out and what is difficult … For me recently, its been trying to stay in the moment – always a tricky one! Take care today and be well.

  5. Very timely reading – as I’ve just written my ‘to do’ list for today, a morning ritual! Maybe I’ll just scrap it, sit outside and read the book that I have an enticing 95 pages left to finish. And I know what you mean about being in the moment and how difficult it is.
