What’s the big hullabaloo with yoga and exercise in the Western world? Why do we often forget/neglect/ignore the idea of the eight limbs of yoga providing us with a system for living authentically?
Notes:
What is the true nature of the posts this week? If you may recall our chat last Friday about Positive Doing … Begin the process of knowing what you “want“, and make certain that you’re getting “it“, as the “practice” is a deeply trans-formative experience that can and will change your life.
*Please note the lack of depth and background into the Eight Limbs. These posts serve merely as an introduction, so why not say hello, empower yourself and dig a tad deeper?
I always have trouble with focus. This post was just what I needed to read today!
I’m glad you found what you needed today ๐ The topic I am trying to re-introduce is Positive Doing. There are like a million ways to go about bringing this topic up, I’m using yoga as but one example. Heck, brushing your teeth could be another example (not sayin’ you have bad breath – just an example) ๐
Take care today Susan and be well!
Yoga is something very new to me; I quite like it. I it strangely intense in a laid back sort of a way, and enables me to focus, something can have issues with ๐ great post, thank you
Stillness, Awareness and Comfort … Oh and be sure to surrender. ๐ If you like, seek these, explore and practice?!? Hmm something tells me you will not only enjoy yoga but life as well.
Take care today ๐

I actually got one of the yama’s tatooed on my body exactly 1 year ago, Ahisma – act of nonviolence. That one I feel most strongly about, It’s a reminder to act accordingly with myself and others, how I eat and how think. Can’t wait to read more!
I would love to see this as I have had a sketch of Ahimsa sitting around gathering dust. One of those things I have been putting off ๐
Like you, this profound principle guides me in my daily life. Be well today and please take care.
Great post! I just finished 106 hours of immersion in Anusara Yoga and loved learning all about the yoga from a holistic point of view. This post blends very nicely. Thank you ๐
I would love to hear more thoughts about your training when you get a free moment ๐
I’m a simple dude and I fail to find the words to accurately describe to people how important the Eight Limbs of Yoga are, not only to for your yoga practice but more importantly: Life. Take care today and be well ๐
Love the bold first sentence at the top ๐
Which part? The one with “Hullabaloo” or the one at the very top in bold? I’m teasing, quite literally I have been waiting forever to work the awesome word hullabaloo into a post. ๐ I hope you are having a great day, take care!
