HOLY COW. I’m just stunned at the heroism of the lady who broke her fall. Who does that? The bravery, the quick thinking, the selflessness. My GOD. She just went under a falling person on those sharp rocks and knew to break the fall?
I’m moved to tears.
Wishing Penny a speedy recovery! What an incredible story!
Her actions alone have restored my faith in humanity! I was seriously moved when I read this story and it still brings a smile to my face thinking about all those who helped. It would have been easy to duck out of the way, and honestly Penny would be in far worse condition today.
Seriously! It’s so cool to see this kind of valor and selflessness. I wonder if Penny would be alive if not for that break in her fall.
Reading more into all of this – the org that runs the race sounds like quite the CLUSTER.
I could go on and on about this story! Just looking at the timeline from when she initially fell? 12:50:53 when she slipped and fell down over the rocks and 12:54:44 on a backboard to an ambulance, seriously? Four minutes in those conditions? Amazing!
