केंद्र ढूँढना

Your hand opens and closes, opens and closes. If it were always a fist or always stretched open, you would be paralysed. Your deepest presence is in every small contracting and expanding, the two as beautifully balanced and coordinated as birds’ wings-

A thought continued from yesterdays post

When we are at our center, we are in a place of power. We are able to stand still and see all that lies before us with perfect vision and precise understanding. It’s interesting to contemplate when we are off our center, how easily we fall into the chaos of imbalance.

In the Bhagavad Gita, The battlefield of Kurukshetra where Arjuna and Krishna are “hanging out” is (to this dude in Omaha) the center point of this inspiring and meaningful work. Kurukshetra is the land between the two vast armies, in one field the Pandavas, who represent the higher self and in the other field the Kauravas, who represent the lower self.

Don’t want to study the battle of Kurukshetra or the Bhagavad Gita? Spoiler Alert: Kurukshetra is the choice between the High Road and the Low Road.

 Daily Meditation:

What exactly does it mean to be centered?

My friends, to be in center, we need to seek and find our center. Pouring my heart out upon you this gentle morning, we need to understand what it is that brings us, and keeps us … Here. Is it Yoga, watching Netflix or running a crisp winter trail? Is our center a vanilla latte, meditation or reading the Bhagavad Gita ?

Our center, is a combination of many beautiful “things” and in seeking our center we find – balance, keeping chaos and imbalance Under the center couch cushion!

  1. I love this- especially hand closing/opening portion.

Oh boy. Every Journey, every project, every action, every desire, that a sentient being contemplates is an attempt to locate, reside and abide in that center..Where some people say
(hahaha) we already are and have no idea we are there. Beautiful post. Thank you.

It is definitely not riding on the training wheels – but it could be worse. Netflix helps. Great post and have a happy Thanksgiving my friend.

Mate you bring up a great point and teaching visualization, especially since we have little ones riding bikes … In essence, what do training wheels help us to do when learning to ride a bike? I’ll save you the long winded rant – they help us to find the center – balance. As a parent you feel the elation, the pride and joy of watching this happen- Its pretty damn cool!
If binge watching House of Cards helps to pull us back to the center? Its all good in my book, and of course a Thanksgiving feast helps out as well. I hope you and your family have a blast on Thanksgiving, take care and please be well>

It’s an interesting feeling to me when I drop into my center, as when I do, I am lifted up to a higher dimension and I can feel that upliftment.

It’s scary… not to have the vanilla latte… xp

I think I wrote in one of my blogs here recently. Again, don’t cover your ears as I reiterate where I run to when I’m only standing on one foot.
“To lose balance sometimes for love is part of living a balanced life.”
~ Ketut Liyer | Elizabeth Gilbert | Eat, Pray, Love

So when all our intentions are for love, that unconditional love, then I feel we’ll all be alright even when we fall flat on our faces sometimes. =)

  6. It’s quite interesting how I don’t think about these things until I read something like your post. Know what a Weeble is? That was me…a viciously wobbling weeble of life, until illness almost took my wife away…then as we learned and grew together, through a plethora of venues, the wobbling lessened and I came to the center – stillness took over – peace crept in. But it often goes unnoticed, like breathing, until pointed out. Thank you.
